An old chestnut I know but 3 games this season where the wind has played a major part and made football difficult.
Fill in the Scoreboard corner and put screens up in the other.

Daft place to build a ground, in line with the incinerator chimney, open to the elements and crap access. Only Stoke Council would grant planning permission (to themselves). Needs to be filled in with or without seats, just for weather proofing.

I like the rain and wind howling through the ground. It ruffles the feathers of the overpaid Prem 'superstars' who come to visit.

The weather at the Brit gives games an extra dimension that you don't see elsewhere - long may it continue. |

A poll of players in the Prem would confirm they hate coming to Stoke. And unfortunately it's not down to the crowd any more. |

Well I don't know where a £30m loss came from when a few months before they were saying we are on course to being self sufficient so im guessing around £80m should just about cover it considering we've spent bugger all in the summer and hughes has said yesterday he has very little in January.

No point filling in the corners, we haven't YET got the following to justify that. In time, hopefully we will as in years gone by kids based in places like Stafford (where I live) would never admit to supporting Stoke, that is now changing and whilst we are in the Prem, the support should grow. It's a bloody cold place to watch football, so think how opposing players must feel. It's something that I believe adds to our matchday experience.

Pugs this sound cynical but hasn't it done us more fsvours, so far?? As a paying customer though, yes I'd love them filled in soon as we're confident we'd fill most of the new seats - which I guess is marginal right now? |

Had this exactly this discussion yesterday as we sat in the sub-artic mini climate of the John Smiths Upper (Ive lost track of who sponsors it now) - even if the club's ambitions dont amount to putting seats in the corners they could at least put up some sort of screening that would reduce the gales that have such a detrimental impact on the football ....and the spectating.

The design houses the screen where it is currently, allows for only a small increase in capacity (and a perfect location for a rail seating trial. Wink wink.), and also blocks the wind from that corner. Okay, it doesn't account for the other corner. But it's a start. I'll.get to a computer now and post it.
