You could sign a contract in that time............... Even for that it's pretty pointless.

When can we re-apply for a work permit? If he made the World Cup squad surely that'd see us get over the line come the summer?

Sorry FM but unless I'm being stupid I cant see him on that list. Well Jurgen did give evidence for him at the appeal panel so he obviously rates him.

Very odd. Jason Davis ?@davisjsn nowAgudelo disappeared from the roster. Guessing a move is coming. Thomas Floyd ?@thomasfloyd10 As @dunord pointed out, Juan Agudelo was on the initial #USMNT roster, then quietly removed moments later. Hmm.

Wonder if Hughes has had a word with USA? getting into that side could help our argument with a work permit?

Looks like he was removed from the party even after the press release had been drawn up!
He must have a move in the very immediate offing?
Andrew Das ?@andrewdasnyt 3m Agudelo a late scrub from USMNT roster, though press release still refers to 27 players at one point, so it must have been a realllly late call.

So I take it the training camps are designed so that all the MLS players who are in their off season have a chance to get a bit of fitness back before they play their friendlies but ordinarily they don't contain players who are the middle of a season?
The roster seems to only include MLS based players bar one who plays in Norway (winter break?)
So would that mean if Agudelo was off to Europe then he wouldn't be available to attend the camp?

Knowing Stoke's skill in the transfer market, he'll probably be unveiled as West Brom or Cardiff's new signing before the end of next week, with Scholesy bemoaning how difficult the paperwork was.

www.thebentmusket.com/2014/1/3/5270044/united-states-announces-january-2013-training-camp-roster-new-england-revolutionJuan Agudelo was among the list of 26 of a mostly-domestically based roster from MLS despite being out of contract but was removed shortly after the list was announced. Other notables that will play South Korea on Feb. 1st include potential USMNT debutants Mike Magee, Luis Gil, DeAndre Yedlin and Chris Klute. ? Tweet (3) ? Share (1) ? Share + Comments After getting my hopes up for about ten minutes, it appears that Jurgen Klinsmann will not have any current New England Revolution players on his roster for the team's January camp. Although Juan Agudelo is currently out of contract and was initially included on the roster, I absolutely would've counted him as a "current" Revs player, his name was removed from the list after the initial posting due to a mix up according to US Soccer's Michael Kammarman. Apparently Agudelo was on the preliminary roster but shouldn't have been included in the annoucement, probably due to his ongoing quest to presumably sign in Europe. Despite good seasons in 2014, current Revs like Kelyn Rowe, Andrew Farrell and Lee Nguyen were not selected.

Is this posturing to do with Stoke mounting a legal challenge on the original `work permit` decision?

Is this posturing to do with Stoke mounting a legal challenge on the original `work permit` decision? I had wondered why they hadn't as yet. I think there should be. I highly doubt a reapplication would succeed as early as March because nothing has changed since the original refusal (e.g. no international appearances).

aren't teams such as valencia and sporting lisbon vying for him?
it surely will be difficult to convince him to wait a few months and go before the appeals committee in hopes of playing for us
it's a shame too because hughes obviously sees something in the lad and believes he can be a special talent
will you fellas root for him to succeed if he goes to another league?

But there is no `appeals committee` as I understand it. You can reapply certainly, or take a more robust approach, assuming we are confident in our position. Haven`t Chelsea just signed a young lad from Burkina Fasso who has about the same amount of international experience as I have?

Surely if we are convinced about Agudelo we should be taking similar actions.

Being pedantic, the hearing was an appeal, in March I believe we can make a new application, which if refused goes through the same appeal process. In other words whatever went on before is forgotten and we start again from scratch. If we went in first time not anticipating a refusal then we may not have done as much preparation as we should have, but will do a lot more preparation this time. It would also not be just after the public statements by Dyke. We need to show he is a high value signing as I believe this is an alternative to International status. I could be wrong but this is how I understand it to work. (3) High Net Worth Players This is a more novel, and certainly less common model which only a few clubs are aware of. If an individual has more than £1million to ‘invest’ in the UK he can obtain entry clearance for an initial period of at least 3 years. Applicants may rely on their own money as well as money that they own jointly with their spouse or partner or even on money owned by their spouse or partner outright. Further permission to remain in the United Kingdom can be granted after the initial period and this route can ultimately lead to settlement. from fullcontactlaw.co.uk/2012/10/work-permits-for-footballers/
