I've got a feeling he'll become a good player for us.
I reckon once he's scored he'll start banging them in every game.

Depends how much, 1mill is about the limit for me if in deed we have already shelled out 500K.

According to reports we have agreed a fee in excess of £5 mill
knowhere near that in my opinion
Much a player who depends on confidence
Not a player with character who you need in a bottom half scrap

I havent seen one decent bit of play by Ameobi and his goal ratio is poor- 28 goals in 168 appearances.

C'mon he's crap why do you think a struggling (at the time) Newcastle let him go. I wouldn't even have the bloke on a free transfer because he couldn't justify his over inflated wage packet.

He takes about a month to get fit and he's spent most of the season injured so is anybody surprised we haven't seen the best of him yet? You can't judge a player on the few appearances he's made here!

I agree he hasnt performed for us but for maybe 2 million he could be a decent player.IF we get to the premiership we need players who can score 7-10 goals a season, not one but maybe 6,then i believe we can avoid relegation.I feel fuller can get marked out of the game against half the teams in the premiership so we need imput from other players.

NO NO NO NO, he makes Kyle lightbourne look like Ronaldo, he'll be a waste of 1 or 2 million, I'd take a gamble on Rob earnshaw, Out of favour at derby and we'll pick him up for pennies, maybe they'll give us a buy one get one free with pearson

IF we dont go up then he would be a cracking signing, once fit,in the CCC
3rd/4th choice striker @ best in the prem
tbh I'm not convinced Fuller should be anything other than an impact sub in the prem - we need two prem calls strikers!

He is pushing for a place in my Stoke Scream team already. He can't control a ball for a start. Getting injured during his loan is a stroke of luck.

No.
For all Rodent is an utter cuntbag, he got it right about ameobi in that he said he would take a month + to get fit etc (so that, plus the acclimatisation of anybody into a team + most of all the humongous amount of money we seem to have paid) means it was a very questionable loan signing.
Does anyone know; given he's injured, can we just send him back & save a qurter of a million (2 games @ £125,000 ea?)
On the other hand & re next season, Rodent does rate him as a finisher so if he got fit, scored goals & did the Mama bit (oh yes, & the price was right - no more than £2M surely?) then possibly.

I like to be fair, and after watching the game for sixty years now, I can't say that I'm over impressed by what I've seen of Ameobi. I could be wrong of course, but my gut instinct is that there are better players about. My own opinion is that Bothroyd would be a better signing. I don't profess to be the fount of football knowledge but I do think (hope) that I've seen enough to be able to form a rational opinion. Having said that I did think I saw a decent player in Parkin. Still not entirely convinced that he could'nt be qualilty if he stirred is lazy arse.

I think it would be north of a mill. Id sign Beattie aswell If we do it, then Beattie for me would be a superb signing. Would want another crack at the Prem and we could afford him if we went up. Great foil for Fuller. SGS

Michael Owen seems to think Ameobi will be coming if we go up. Don't know if he knows any more than was reported in the press at the time. I suppose it's impossible to judge him on what we've so far as he's clearly nowhere near fit. goal.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/04/25/q-a-newcastle-and-england-striker-michael-owen/Q: Off the topic, I wonder if you’ve seen that funny puppet show with Jose Mourinho and Sven-Goran Ericksson, “I’m on Setanta Sports.” Only asking because they have the voice of a guy, “David” from Newcastle, who keeps asking silly questions and jokes about Ameobi, who I know played at Newcastle and is now out on loan.
A: Ah, no, I’ve never seen it, although I do have Setanta. Ameobi is on loan at Stoke and if they get promoted he will stay at Stoke, if they, he comes back to Newcastle. If you say it’s so funny, maybe I’ll have to check it out.

I haven't been impressed at all so far. If we could get him for a small fee then mayhap, but some of the fees mentioned here is just way OTT. There got to be better & cheaper players available.

When on goal against Bristol his shot that screwed off his foot was simply embarassing. It shows just how short of confidence the guy is.I'm not saying don't sign him as there is a good player in there, but i don't think i'd play him in a game as big as Saturday's

He's fucking wank.
We should get Huddy's red cards out and write SHAMEOBI OUT on them for the Leicester game.
