Small PL club in trouble, it's made for Tone. If they get relegated, he won't get blamed, if they stay up, he's a hero. Relegation would remove the never been relegated bit of his CV, maybe that means something to TP.

Just heard Mark Bright on Radio 5 Live, they mentioned Tony Pulis to him and he said "The most succesful period in Crystal Palace's time was the late 80's and early 90's. We got promoted, got to the FA Cup Final and finished 3rd in the old first division. The style we played was direct, it was organised, and we played long ball. Strong in the defence and midfield, two wide men, two up top. So maybe that says something, and Tony Pulis could be the man for the job"

From the press conference, what a classy guy Holloway is. Wonder if there really is a hidden agenda here or if he just thought deeply after the Fulham game and this is all his own move - that wouldn't shock me tbh, he's a very heart on sleeve bloke isn't he?
But am also thinking what good mates he and Tone are....

Not looking good for all those that said he would never get another Prem job and/or be lucky to land a Champ one either.

I didn't see the news conference but on the ticker tape on SSN it said they were looking for someone to help Holloway as though Ollie would remain involved in some capacity. If that's the case Pulis must be nailed on

I Agree Nailed on Pulis - The Chairam couldn't give a fuck at the style, in many ways Pulis Ball is direct. When you look at Hughes and others if you have players to thread their way through premier league defensives then great. But with a slow pass system which as a former player gives you time to organise is easier to defend than balls lobbed into the danger area every so often then Pulis has every chance. It would be a great appointment.
I'm not a Pulis lover - I want STOKECity FC to progress playing attractive football and winning matches. The only problem at the moment we are not defending as well without a system midfield can have the ball all day long passing here there everywhere, but when it comes to the real business end Hughes does seem to struggle. I want him to succeed as I would anything to do with SCFC but don't replace something that will get us relegated just to play a bit more attractive football. If I really wanted to watch attractive football I would be a season ticket holder at Crewe.

Just watching Holloway's interview today as a whole screams TP coming in. Talk of wanting someone more experienced, talk of not being able to play as open as he would like to and did in the Championship, needing to improve the spirit of the group and changing too much too soon. I'll be amazed if it isn't TP.

I'll be amazed if it isn't TP. Mark Pougatch on Radio 5 in his interview with Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish said "Tony Pulis is the clear favourite for the job, would you be looking at someone like that with a lot of experience and quality?" Bound to not be Pulis after all this. Has to be Michael Appleton, he's had no jobs this season and he had at least 20 last season.

Needless to say, I hope Palace go down. For me, Pulis taking over would add extra conviction to that sentiment, if for no other reason than to cut some of the borderline biblical worship and rimming that STILL gets spouted on here. Why would it change peoples opinion of him? Some are grateful and respect what he has done for Stoke not some fucker else. Because some people seem to be of the opinion that he is the all knowing, all conquering saviour of football. The same people who still pine for his capped shadow on the touchline, and conveniently forget the horrific last leg of his charge here when arguing his case. These are the same people that suggest 'some' are not appreciative of what Pulis did for this club because they dare question his managing abilities.

Looks like everyone's pushing all out for TP then? Interesting.
If he gets the job, I can't see him pulling them out of this one. They look absolutely dead. Still, he has Jedinak to build his team around.

Can see Pulis getting it and coming in for Huth in January. Huth moved his family (wife and kiddie) down to London a few season's ago. If Pulis can get a few results early doors and close the gap I can see him being tempted.

Pulis struggled to keep Stoke up, no way he will keep their rubbish squad up. How short the memory is. Did you see our squad the first season? Every man and his dog had us as certs to go down. 12th and 11 points clear - yep real struggle that we were on paper as rubbish as it got. Absolutely talentless. But yet he kept us up. I have no doubt he can wield the same kind of unorthodox 'magic' to keep palace up and that's bad news for us. If palace don't go down mark my words we are relegated

I'll have a million pounds that he won't be in for this job. Lack of bottle. That's a frankly laughable comment about someone who came back to a club where he was pretty much hated by the support, was stubborn enough to play his style of football even though he was roundly slagged in the press (and by his club's own supporters) and showed up to the Villa game the day his mother died. Especially coming from some snide fucker posting on an internet forum. I'd love to see you tell him he's got no bottle to his face. If he's not in for this job it's because it's a shit one and he has the sense to not go near it. I very much doubt he'd be able to keep them up and I very much doubt Palace will be going places next season regardless of their manager. . Say what the f$$$ u like I don't like his style but I love the man, his honesty, his sense of duty and commitment. A great example of a true pro

The nightmare scenario.
TP takes the Palace job, keeps them up, we fail in the January window to find a decent goal scorer and our continued inability to score takes us down.
Oh the irony!
