Noted yet another 2000 empty seats at the weekend and that's with a healthy away following. I'm not sure what price catergory the match fell under but I'm astonished to see seasoned fans I know, with season tickets for this season having enough already and not attending or selling their tickets already.
I can't for the life of me see what Hughes can possibly achieve with this current crop of failures in front of goal.
Our best hope is there's three worse teams than us.

1) £30 a ticket 2) Little chance of seeing a goal 3) Little chance of being entertained 4) £5 to park or get piss wet through walking a mile to the ground 5) No players to excite us ( Remember Fuller,Beagrie,Chamberlain,etc....)
Just some of the reasons unfortunately

shit atmosphere, its not much fun sitting in silence for 90 minutes listening to away fans singing 'wheres yer famous atmosphere'. For a lot of the new fans we picked up in 2008 the novelty has worn off

The same crop of failures that hughes was congratulated about for the way they played against Liverpool and man city etc. Play well = down to hughes. Play bad = Blame Mr Pulis.

Attendances haven't changed since the season started, and so the football has nothing to do with it.
We've been consistent, or has Hughes been given the responsibility of bringing back the fans that Pulis lost or who can't afford to renew.
Bollocks thread.

So he could have said it last month as well? When's the cutoff on that argument? Could make the saving argument all through the year - saving for holidays, saving for Christmas, saving for rainy days.

Unfortunately it's part and parcel of Football that a certain percentage of supporters will attend games based on how successful their team has been on the pitch. It's never once occurred to me not to attend a Stoke game because of how well we've been playing but there is supporters out there with that mentality, at every club. I don't believe it was Pulis's style of play that led to a drop in early bird season ticket sales, I think it was based on results and nothing else. I'm sure there may be the odd exception, but It doesn't matter what style of play we are playing, if we are picking up wins on a regular basis at home our stadium will be sold out every game.

The free away travel may be part of the problem as it has now become cheaper to have a day away than attend home games. In effect by encouraging fans to travel away the club is now boosting the opposition's home gate to the detriment of our home gates.

It'll be back to the Championship soon if this is all we can muster. The club should have a match day sale at £10 and £5 for kids in order to fill the stadium.

To piss off season ticket holders who paid more than that per game? Not sure what that would accomplish. Deals not far off early bird rates for 1/2 season or all remaining home game packs would be fairer.

These things take time and let's be honest, Stoke vs West Brom isn't a glamour match, even if it is the closest thing we can call a derby...
