There seems to be a lot of debate on here at the moment about "Glory-Hunters" who have suddenly appeared out of the woodwork professing to be Stokies ( They're always look a bit overweight because under their Stoke tops are Man U and Liverpool shirts) But on the subject of "Pedigree" How many Stokies have heard of, (or heard) the bloke ZIGGA-ZAGGA who stood on The Boothen late 60's/early 70,s - getting the old atmos going by shouting; ZIGGA-ZAGGA ZIGGA-ZAGGA STOKE CITY Twenty odd years before DELILAH Anyone remember or heard of ZZ and whatever happened to him?? Avante Gard or what duck?

Zigga-Zagga was a bit ahead of his time and may have appeared to have "mental-health problems" if he lived in Stoke or if he was rich "eccentric".
Whatever, he had real passion and in my book that's enough...

That chant was copied from another team Chesterfield I think? Amended though - they sang Zagger Zigga!

Zigger always goes and is usually found sat outside the ticket office by the steps. I've known him for about fifteen years or so now always thought he was a great bloke and is unquestionably a massive Stoke fan

He used to sit in the front row of the boothen stand at the vic. Used to put his coffee on the wall.
One time he knocked it off all over us in the paddock.
Although he apologised he was subject to the most fucking excellent display of foul language towards one man that I have ever fucking witnessed
And thats fucking saying something.

we did the play at school. Bloody happy memories, but funnily enough the Stoke connections wasnt really pushed. Seemed to remember the "sexy suntanned striker" character was called "Vincent" but obviously was a prophesy heralding the coming of the Mighty Bertie Biggins....

Yeah, Zig goes to all the reserve games too. The other day I was walking across the car park to my car after a first team match when some hooligan ( ) beeped his car horn at me. It was Zig telling me the reserves were playing on the Tuesday. He is very passionate. A couple of years ago he boycotted the official coaches because he didn't like the fact they stopped for ages at service stations. Top bloke, and a real legend in the history of Stoke supporters

Remember being down the Vic on a night match early 80's?? standing on the Boothen when there suddenly appeared a bright light to my left. Went to see what was going on and saw a tv crew interviewing Zigger during the game. As I got closer Stoke scored and everyone went mental knocking the camera man all over the shop straight to me so I grabbed it and screamed like a loony straight down the lens. Anyone else remember this or am I loosing it ??? ???

There was some television series in the very early seventies, probably BBC, to find Britain's biggest i(e most devoted ), football fan. I think the winner was a Bristol Rovers fan who had travelled something ridiculous like 100,000 miles supporting his team. Whatever. But I seem to remember that John was in the last six for the final.

Zigga Zagga WAS the old Boothen, often imitated, never replaced. He roused the lads like nobody before or since. He was a true inspiration, and I can still close my eyes and hear him. All the bollocks about the Liverpool Kop and their support was just that. They never bettered The Boothen End Choir with our choirmaster.
