Shame N'Zonzi gets a nose bleed whenever he gets close to the opposition box, quality player but fuck me talk about running backwards after getting into a good position. Man City still gob smacked me with that run he did. 94% pass completion today for Nzonzi and a cracking forward pass/assist for the goal. Brilliant ball for Arnautovic in all honesty. Oh i agree he's been outstanding this season, i just still chuckle at that run against Man City.

Oh i agree he's been outstanding this season, i just still chuckle at that run against Man City. If i'm being totally honest I had a little moan at the match. A bit later, after a long think and a wobble of the head it was obvious the youth was knackered from running Toure all game and just couldn't do what his body wanted him to. The ball today for our goal proves he can do it, not just in the last 5 minutes of a match against top opposition when he's tatered! I think we can cut him some slack.

I thought Cameron's performance today was as good as I have seen from a Stoke fullback for some considerable time.Really impressive.

That is 3 very good games on the trot from Cameron who seems to be growing in stature under Mark Hughes having been given some freedom to play in that right back position. Long may it continue.

I know that like me, Dave you have been unsure of Geoff to say the least but these last three games have really seen him move up through the gears and play to a very high level (that if I'm honest I didn't think he would reach).

Quite right Jamo but unlike some on here, I'm (as you are) prepared to call a spade a spade and say things as I see them regardless of my views of a particular player.
To date, I haven't been a fan of Cameron and these last 3 games, he has turned in performances that I didn't think he was capable of. Same with Wilson to some degree.
Long may that continue. Cameron is looking excellent at the moment.

I though Geoff played well last season upto xmas & then after that he wasn good. he was tiring i think. he had already played most of his season in america before he played most of the games in our season too. this season though, he looks sharp and refreshed.

Superb was G-Cam.
Great goal because he gambled and he is allowed to carry on forward under Hughes.

Geoff, N'zonzi and Arnie were our best players by some distance today. Agreed, and with Geoff MOM. Three excellent games in a row now.

I didn't think he was suited to right back but he seems to improve each game, certainly our best player today .

Him, Arnautovic and N'Zonzi have been the bright sparks today, don't deserve to be on the losing side. Agreed. I've always liked our Geoff and thought he was pretty steady in right back until 'you know when' last season. He's only looked poor when we've been under constant pressure. when we're under such pressure, there's always going to be a higher likelihood that he'll get caught out. With a more positive outlook and encouragement to get forward, he can get more involved, have a bit more time on the ball to find space and pick a pass. Cam, Nzonzi, Wilson (until moved to LB) and Arnie were constantly finding space and wanted the ball playing to them. They were all linking well together and it was great to see them 4 especially dominating the game. We wasn't able to break them down, no, but lets not kid ourselves that Arsenal weren't cramming bodies behind the ball and making it difficult for us to find any space at all. It's far better IMHO to be the team controlling the ball and trying to find the space instead of the ones with everybody behind the ball and we showed that for 15/20 mins of the first half and 40 minutes of the second. The difference today wasn't a £42M signing/top of the table team on a very good run at the moment - it was three poor set pieces inclusive of slightly laboured performance, a poor and sloppy show from Adam and a poor Jones. We know where we've got to improve and its up to Hughes and his team to sort it out. In general though, lots of positives to take from that performance. We've shown to be a very strong team against two of the best this league has to offer. Now we've got to take that in to our game against Norwich Edit - I also thought Pieters was V good before he was subbed too

Was sure about him for ages, but he was excellent today. He looked very confident on the ball, nice touches and took his goal really well.

His ability to glide with the ball past people with such confidence is really surprising; this is a guy who was seen as a centre back or mid and is now showing he could become the best right back we've ever had. As I've said before on here, if he improves his crossing he will get the bigger clubs interested in him despite his age!

I noticed in the Man City game - when Cameron put in a very good performance - that Shawcross was helping him out quite a lot verbally with his positioning and awareness. Whether it's Ryan talking him through the games that his seen him improve massively there, which would perhaps be a sign of the defence as a whole getting used to Hughes' methods and functioning as a unit, or coaching, it's very, very pleasing. He was fantastic today.

What... Nzonzi was ok didn't affect the game at all Cameron was all over it... Some people must be blind. Didn't N'zonzi set the goal up (albeit through Arnies shot)? Yep, one of the best passes of the game, but we must be blind

It's only a week or two since a fair few were saying his feet are on the wrong way round. He's looked like a 'footballer' ever since he arrived but he wasn't a full back, had never played there in his life and has had to adapt. He's looking better with every game and he's going to be a 'big' player for us.
For what it's worth, I think Ireland will soon be a regular in the team and look the part too.

It seems like its all coming together but we will have setbacks. From what I saw second half Stoke were the cultured outfit but conceded soft goals

Amazing what a change in manager has done for Cameron. Last year he looked a liability at full back IMO, this year with more of a license to push on he looks much better.
And as fickle as we fans are remember he came in for a lot of stick on here last year. So was that down to his own performances or the role his manager asked him to play?

Not only was he asked to play in a position he'd never played but in a very defensive set up when he's clearly a player that likes to get forward. He's always looked like a good footballer 'shackled' to me and it's good to see him now getting the freedom to prove his worth. I think he'll still be a liability at times defensively but I believe, and hope that the pro's will outweigh the cons. Early days but I'm liking what I see.

Cant really see him at CB tbh,not in the prem. I think he could be a great center half. He's sure when he's on the ball, unlike Ryan. But I see no need to move him to CB when you'd be replacing either Ryan or Huth with wilko.

From what I saw second half Stoke were the cultured outfit but conceded soft goals I think the second half was a little 50/50, we started to play a bit better and they sat off us and let us get on with it until we got into the final third.

Thought he wasn't far off our motm today but think N'zonzi just beats him to that. What... Nzonzi was ok didn't affect the game at all Cameron was all over it... Some people must be blind.I agree, some people must be blind. Nzonzi dominated the centre of the field. Superb. Geoff Cameron also superb.
