I watched the Cardiff game last week & am watching a re-run of the Hull game now. They don't half look bog standard at the back. If we can get KJ firing on all cylinders or a new face in I reckon we might just give em a surprise.
9 points from 12 will be a shed load better than even the most optimistic could have been thinking of at the start of the season but its not out of the question.
Thoughts?

This re-run has Robbie Earle doing analysis.
What a shame that bloke didn't play for Stoke. Great player, talks a lot of sense & still has his Stoke accent!

Of course we can. It's just a case of applying ourselves and not getting wary of the money they've got/spent.

we'd have to get up and at em, right in their faces. their defence is definitely the weak spot , I'd be very surprised if they didn't sign a top quality centre half before the window ends though.

I'm suprised at how weak Man City look at the moment, obviously they have bags of talent but they looked really tame over the last couple of games. A good time for us to play them. Hit them whilst their confidence is low.

If We can get some firepower we can take them.

I'm convinced we can take them, every game is an improvement on the last

Man City will come back firing, but i just want us to give 100%, if that means losing so be it, but dont always sit back and try to get a 0-0.

Will Kompany still be out. He's always been their rock at the back, without him they're pretty ordinary.

If you'd have asked this 3 weeks ago then most would have said No. But with our good start and their fairly mediocre start then most certainly yes. Esp the Hughes factor is now gathering pace, seems to have really endeared himself to the faithful...

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here. We have beaten Palace and West Ham so far and Man City will be a totally different proposition. Yes they are beatable but the way some of you are overreacting to yesterday's win is a bit premature if you ask me.

We have then beaten a poor Palace side, a league 1 team and a poor (on the day) west ham side. I am very pleased with how we have started and hope it continues but lets not put the expectation to high to soon.

At home I would expect Les to go in with both barrels. It's there to win if we can force them into a deadlock under Tone'

With the right mindset from the management down to the players then yes because it's 11 men v 11 men and not the mindset of 'man city are a top top side and it's a bonus game blah blah blah' from the past regime of surrender!
Come on stoke

We sure can. Zero respect and take the game to them. We'll be playing at the Brit so the 3 points should be up for grabs. That's the mentality. Just hope Kompany will still be out and that perhaps we would have added some fire power ourselves

A lot of the expectation is due to man city's performances against 2 teams who are amongst the favourites for the drop. however if they perform like they did v Newcastle then without a doubt we will get beaten

If we can maintain the attempts on goal ( 15 yesterday) and keep peppering Joe Hart we could well walk away with the points. His confidence is a bit shot at present. If I was Hughes my mantra would be 'shoot on sight'

Hell yes. Three weeks ago we were wondering how many points we would get from our first 3 games and how performances would be. Now three weeks on we have 6 points from 9, should have got something from the Liverpool match and performances have been promising. With that outlook I fancy us taking those manc fuckers for all 3 points.

This could go one of two ways IMO, we could nick it 1-0 of we could be in for a pasting 0-4 depends which teams turn up the if its the Man City team that played Cardiff and the Stoke team that just beat West Ham we have more then a fair shot. I must admit I quite like the idea of Jones bullying Nastasic.

Without Kompany yes we have a chance, they'll maintain their current morale I think and with Hart suffering a lot of criticism at the moment they could really suffer, I'd at least hope for a point. If Kompany is back their morale will improve drastically, their captain back and one of their best players, the Lescott and Nastasic partnership is woeful I hope we play them when they're fielding that to be honest.
Another thing to bare in mind is Negredo hasn't started for them yet and from all of his sub appearances the bloke sure looks like a goal getter, if they start him against us he will come on with something to prove trying to cement his place in the starting lineup, could really cause us some trouble.

If our midfield and defence are on top form - along with a few wonder saves from bego - we have a good chance. But if their attack turns up they will almost certainly win with the talent they have. Could be interesting though. Why does there have to be this stupid international break, I want the momentum from yesterday!

They seem to play without much width ,which should play into our hands and get G.Cam and Pieters overlapping as they did yesterday with hopefully a better final ball.
