What a brilliant atmosphere at selhurst. Fair play to them, if they're to have any chance of staying up then there home ground needs to be a fortress. Fair play to them

That assistant manager has got the toughest job in football. He's got Di Cannio screaming in his face for the entire 90 mins!

The bottom 3; Brazil, Sunderland and Swansea already face a long hard season, but I'm afraid they are all doomed.

Sunderland were fortunate to stay up last year...hard to think of three teams worse than they are this season.

I get the feeling Paolo may come under pressure sooner rather than later. I just don't think he has the general temperament to be a successful top flight manager mate. He's hot and cold, a lunatic, way too emotional.

I have sunderland going down, fletcher is great so is altidore but there problems are from midfield back and having a complete nutter as a coach I don't see them getting any higher than 17-15th during the season falling to 18th. Tough schedule perhaps the toughest.

I remember when there was a time they were loving having Di Canio as their manager, oh how times change, I know there's a long way to go but the players he has brought in have done nothing to improve them so far, some aren't even getting a game.

Sunderland signed all those players and David Vaughn was their central midfield player.

I had the 'pleasure' a couple of weeks ago of spending some time having a look around their ground. For a new ground, it is in a terrible state. Roof leaking right, left and centre. Holes in the panels all around the ground. Rusty metal work with peeling paint. Broken, shabby seats. The décor in the posher areas looked like it hadn't been renewed since the place was built. Outside the ground is in an awful spot, but to see weeds growing everywhere was really sad. This is a club going downhill fast. The previous day I had spent looking around Newcastle's ground. It was like going from a palace to a slum.

Their run in looks sound. Will they still be in with a chance at that stage?

Their run in looks sound. Will they still be in with a chance at that stage? Could depend on who their manager is at that stage ? ;D Hope it's that bell sniffer Di Canio. Didn't want Hughes, and still think he's got stuff to prove but I'd take him every single day of the week over a moron like Dick anio. Blokes and absolute cunt who wants everyone to focus on him. Don't think I've seen anything as tragic as him sliding on his knees at 'castle went he'd been in charge for a week and a half.

Sunderland boss Di Canio: "We must be worried when we concede pathetic goals. This game was crucial. It's obvious we need players"
I agree with him. They've only signed, what? 14 odd players?

Like this comment from bozwellboyce: 'there's still time left before the window closes but without another 3 or 4 quality players I fear we will be relegated'.

I suppose that after all the worry that we had about getting rid of TP, the uncertainty who our next manager would be, and then the realisation that it would be Mark Hughes, and the relief or anxiety that brought to so many fans, that it looks like we should be grateful to Peter Coates for apparently bringing in someone who has steaded the ship, and looks as though he is taking us forward (so far anyway) without the ballyhoo, tantrums and high/low emotions that surrounds Di Canio.

What a precious self important fanny he is. He writes a crappy blog and seemingly thinks a lot of himself over it.
Fucking northerners, sooner they get relegated the better.
