Jesus we have the most pathetic fan base going...he has played 3 competitive games for us and is coming back from injury..give the lad a chance ffs! Fair point but he was useless tonight. I'm hoping he'll be much improved over the next few months. maybe he did look useless but every player should be given a chance and after just 3 games and one of them after coming back from injury it's impossible to judge someone

Let's generously say that he looked like a player who is coming back from an injury. I see that the USA have a game coming up soon that Shea could be asked to take part in. He needs to make his mind up as to whether he wants to get another cap for a mickey mouse country or have a career in the professional game, sharpish. Fuck off you cock. Mickey mouse country? One of those two matches is against Mex. The other against CR. You'll be busy with Moldova. Talk about Mickey Mouse. And why couldn't you beat this Mickey Mouse country in the WC?

I suppose you could say he found Stoke players with his few touches. Which makes him look like Stanley Matthews next to Michael Kightly.
He'll never make it though.

Following twitter from those at the game, they said he looked good. When there's tweets like these, from a Stoke supporter at the match: Muniesa and Brek Shea beasting #SCFC #scfc 2 - 0 Jones brace... who needs another striker? #BrekIsTheKey ofc. brekshea has to start for me from what ive seen of him. nzonzi, assaidi, brek should be great muniesa will link with brek I do wonder how some then say he clearly can't cut it and has no chance. Opinions on his performance all over the place. Why is it always negative around here?

He should be at his club, building up his fitness and getting used to his new manager's ways. There is absolutely no way that whizzing back across to America to maybe play is going to benefit him, not at all. It was absurd that he had to waste time in that Gold Cup nonsense.

Yeah, the problem for you is plenty at the match said he looked good. Come on here, he was clueless and has no chance. You surprised I think the answer is probably somewhere in the middle? Your opinion isn't any more valid than others at the match.

Absolutely chuffing gash for me, didn't look like he wanted to get them orange boots dirty. I hope it is to do with his injury because he needs to man up a bit.

It is a bit harsh to judge a player who is 'coming back from an injury'- nevertheless that's all we've got to base our opinion on. I fear he'll always be 'coming back from an injury'. His lack of positional nouse, the way he gets turned and ends up contorting himself means he'll continually pick up strains, knocks and whatnot. Once again, as a Stoke player I wish him well, but to be at the opening of a new season, and he's 'coming back from an injury.' doesn't bode well. He was a waste of wazz tonight. {having said that The Linesman's Friend Muniesa hardly interacted with Shea, I'm undecided who was worse.} Here's hoping they stop being so fucking static sometime soon... for all the fine words in the programme.. Brek wanna Ready.

Let's be honest here. He was absolutely dreadful and looked scared to death of any physical contact whatsoever.
I won't write him off on the back of one appearance but he showed absolutely nothing to get excited about. Nothing at all. Not even a glimpse.

He didn't look shit, out of his depth or clueless at all. He didn't put a foot wrong. That's not to say he had a great game at all, but he's far from being the amateur some on here are making him out to be.
I was underwhelmed, but he's coming back from injury for fuck's sake, and has he even played an hour of competitive football for us in England yet?
Assaidi looks the dog's bollocks and I'd rather the experience of Ethers at this point in time but he's by no means a write-off.

I said to my mate next to me that he didn't look like he was running freely, had a hard time with injuries recently so not completely unexpected. Hopefully he will improve. Few nice touches but general play seemed lazy.

He looked ok. Some nice one/two touch stuff, rarely gave the ball away, but didn't I at defenders enough for me, looks like he could be a great player for us but not quite there yet.
Not sure why he has got such a beating for that performance.

He's coming off injury and playing a style of football not familiar to most Stoke fans. He'll come good.

He wasn't anything special in MLS. I still have no idea why Stoke gave him a shot. Hopefully he improves.

He looked very rusty. I have serious doubts whether he will make it over here but i'm well up for being proven wrong (again! ).

Very poor for me apart from taking up a few decent positions. Again prepared to give him some time but the worrying thing for me is apart from being in the right place a couple of times he seemed to be lost for the vast majority and looking like he wasn't sure where he was supposed to be.

His movement was good and he made some good runs but I thought he was poor in possession.
First outing after an injury though so we'll see how things go.

He simply isn't good enough at this level , it was obvious in his fulham and west ham performances last year ,as it stands he is the fourth best left sided option and it's not often I put Walters ahead of anyone Benjamin, I have a gut feeing he won't make it, but to base your own opinion on those fleeting appearances last season when he was totally unfit and back from a season riddled with injury is ridiculous and I even include last night in that too. We don't have enough on which to judge him.

I see some of our American cousins are getting into a flap about being associated with one of their most successful exports; Mr Michael Mouse.
I think the phrase you youngsters use is; whoosh!!!
