In January this year I got knocked off my bike. Managed to pick my bike up and rode the 1 mile home. Collapsed when I got home and asked the missus to call a good neighbour. He thought I was pissed and started lightly crogging me in the guts when I was face down. I picked myself up and went to bed. An ambulance came in the morning and took me off to the hospital after the pain got to much. I had a broken my shoulder, cracked 8 ribs and fractured my skull. They also said it was 50/50 about needing to remove my spleen. I was back at work in 20 days. What a load of bollocks this bloody Ramsay thing is - people get injured in life. It's how you react to it that's important. If you play football then you are going to take a few knocks. Never heard Rory Delap moan either. Meh, I had my leg chopped off two years ago, did me the world of good. Sounds ironic but true, even sounds moronic lol. It's open doors I never thought of and give me chance to do something not many will. I won't go as far as to say I'm glad it happened but 2 years on I can say I honestly don't think about it or see it as a bad thing

Arsenal 2 – Fenerbahçe 0 Arsenal cruised into the Champions League group stages last night, thanks to star of the show, Aaron Ramsey. The story is made even more remarkable by the fact Ramsey has only just returned from a horrific injury which left him lucky to be alive, let alone playing football again. “I’ve only just regained full fitness” said Ramsey, who returned to the Arsenal team what seems like around 5 years ago. “It’s been a difficult road to recovery. The doctors told me if the challenge had been an inch or two higher, I could have been blinded in both eyes.” He added, as once again, he refused to exaggerate the whole incident. Arsene Wenger was full of praise for his hero on the night, “What a gallant showing from the boy. Such bravery on an epic scale. Soldiers go to war. Doctors, fire-fighters and police officers risk their lives on a daily basis; you can put Ramsey in that bracket for sure. He’s been to hell and back and came out the other end, he is the true definition of a hero” said the cheese-eating surrender-monkey. Aaron Ramsey, the first footballer in the history of the game to suffer a broken leg, has faced a long, hard road to recovery but it is one he has fought silently. Never one to mention it at every single opportunity or to milk it more than Milky Milkerson, the most milked cow this side of Milk City, Ramsey has battled on, never once playing on his injury. “It’s a difficult thing to overcome. I am surrounding by legs every day in football. Whenever I see a challenge between two players I have flashback to that day. I wake up in sweats most nights. And not just the nights Arsene creeps into my room. It wasn’t just the physical injury, it’s the mental scars you carry with you to your deathbed.” He said. The ever modest Ramsey added “Am I a hero? I don’t know. That’s for others to decide. I just go out there and give my all in the extreme face of adversity. I just hope my story can be an inspiration to people all over the world.” Added the utterly sycophantic, spunk trumpet. You've had to wait an awful long time for Ramsey to have a good game, thereby enabling you to post this masterpiece!

It's bad enough Arsenal fans and the media still going on about the Ramsey-Shawcross incident at every opportunity. We need to let it lie too

Even before Ryan's laces have made contact with the ball Ramsey's already in the process in causing one of the breaks himself and the other break cones from Ryan's laces THEN making contact. I don't even care these days.... CHOO CHOO Mother Fucker! Here comes the pain train!

We always jump on the Gooners every time some lame brain brings this up. We seem to be in mass hysteria and go on the defensive straight away. The best thing we can do is forget the whole sordid event. Ryan Shawcross is innocent of any wrongdoing so why not stick at that and let it go. Let the sad Arsene Wingnut loving press wallow in their pit of self righteous drivel. Rise above it for goodness sake rise above it.

When you take a step back we actually have a lot to thank the calcium deficient, spunk bubble for.
If he hadn't fell over, Ryan's stock would have continued to rise and we'd have probably lost him (possibly to Arsenal).
So thanks, Aaron we owe you big time for not drinking milk as a kid.

The debate continues... just search for "youtube sharwcross ramsey" and the discussion is still very active. Will they never let it go? Yes and the truth is Ryan kicked an already broken leg.

He has struggled on despite the worst case of osteoporosis ever recorded by an amazed NHS. What a hero. It would never have been revealed if it wasn't for another hero, one Ryan Shawcros of THE MIGHTY POTTERS!

I have always maintained that, if Ramsay played for any other club, the other club's fans would have been more philiosphical and forvgiving than that load of arseholes and it would already be distant history. Who remembers who broke David Busst's leg, forcing him out of the game altogether, for example?
Lest we ever forget, as Stoke fans it is our sworn duty to despise everything about that smug, sanctimonious, whingeing, cheating bastard club.

I won't go as far as to say I'm glad it happened but 2 years on I can say I honestly don't think about it or see it as a bad thing By a strange quirk of fate, I just heard the story of Shun Fujimoto this morning. Shun Fujimoto was in the Japanese men's gymnastics team in the 1976 Olympics. He fractured a knee-cap while performing his floor routine, but he didn't tell his team-mates or coach. Instead he went on to complete a superb routine on the pommel horse. Landing the dismount tore ligaments in his broken knee, but he still didn't tell anyone he was injured. The last routine was on the rings; despite being in horrendous pain he performed a near faultless routine. The dismount, landing on both feet from over 8 foot up, dislocated his fractured knee and ruptured his cruciate ligaments. He held his balance long enough for the landing to be registered, before collapsing in agony. His scores of 9.5 and 9.7 were just enough for Japan to beat USSR to the team gold.

Just goes to show Ramsey really is a bag of arse, most people expect that I follow the para Olympics but I really don't care about them in general, I will be much more entertained when they start calling it the bionic Olympics, when we are doing things much better than normal people. Even though I'm training to compete for 2016 weight lifting. My point being if Ramsey couldn't compete professionally he would prolly drown himself in his tears rather than getting on with his life. Instead dragging out a injury that I'm sure most professional sportsmen/woman would forget about it and move on.

Three years on and I still can't get over how Peter Walton managed to miss Bendtner's push on Shawcross in the build up to that incident, should've been a free kick to Stoke. Dreadful refereeing.

It WAS a bad injury, but 1) footballers get worse injuries and come back, 2) it was 3 1/2 years ago, & 3) I think we all agree that Ryan's tackle was over the top and deserving of a card, but it was in no way malicious, mistimed and over enthusiastic I think are the best descriptions.
Still a great performance from him last night though

Still a great performance from him last night though Nope, can't agree with that at all. Ryan went for the ball. Ramsey went for the ball. Ryan was grabbed by Bendtner and was therefore a split second late arriving. It definitely wasn't "over the top". It didn't deserve a card. The ref initially let play go on until he noticed the injury. Just read www.express.co.uk/comment/columnists/mick-dennis/161236/Ryan-Shawcross-right-Stoke-wrong by one of the biggest Stoke haters around. When Mick Dennis says "So I do not even think it was a foul, much less a red-card offence or a symptom of Stoke’s malevolence. I despise how Tony Pulis’s team play. But Ramsey was hurt in a legitimate, 50-50 challenge."
