When I click to open a thread, the page opens with the bottom of the page on the screen. I then have to scroll to get to the top of the page. This has only just started to happen. Does anyone have an answer so that I can to get the page to open properly, i.e., at the top?

Is this happening using the Proboards App? If so, go into Settings > Loading Behaviour then check Oldest Post.
If it's on the Desktop Version (on your PC or laptop) what browser are you using? If it's Internet Explorer, try and other one, such as Google Chrome or Mozilla and let me know if it's still happening.

Thanks for your reply. I am on a P.C. & I use Google Chrome. I have just tried your suggestion on my other browser, O.Express & the pages open O.K. Is there a setting that I can alter on Chrome so that the pages open O.K. on that, as I prefer to use Chrome?

I've had a similar problem start these last two days. I can open a thread normally but when I click to view the next page it throws me to the bottom of the thread & I have to scroll up.
PC, Firefox.

That's exactly my problem FF. I've been on this board for years & always been O.K. Wonder if we'll get an answer to get it back to how it should be?

Sorry, DC. Of course, Firefox is your browser.

I keep getting an annoying pop-up as well, that keeps saying that I've been chosen to complete a Proboards survey. Admin, can anything be done to stop this?

I've had the following reply from the Proboards support....
Is this any thread in any board? Is it a specific thread in a specific board? Or a specific board with all threads in said board? If not the first option, which board, and/or specific thread? Does it only happen on threads with multiple pages, single pages or both? Not sure? Can you ask the members to test it?
With regards to the pop up, sorry we can't do anything about that. You can install add ons to remove pop ups though in Firefox and Chrome.

I've just been testing it in the main Stoke section & the Everything Else section.
Single page threads are fine, multi-page threads seem to be fine as long as you click 'next' whilst at the top of the page, but obviously if you're reading the thread you get to the bottom & then press 'next'. It's then hit 'n' miss asto where you end up but the few threads I just tested had half of them plonk me viewing the chatroom & the other half stick me somewhere random in the middle of the page.

My problem is the same as D.C's. In addition, when I click to open a thread, especially the 'Transfers' thread, which I am following, it opens at page 1, instead of taking me to the page that I was last on.

Same here with PC using Chrome, started at the weekend. If you click the 'new participated' box top right it takes you to where you left off. But as you say the next button takes you to a random point on the next page or to the bottom of the next page ie chatroom. It's doing on all the multipage threads I'm reading.

Just had this reply from Proboards...could you try this please?
In Chrome, click the menu button in the top-right hand corner of the browser, next click the "New Incognito Window" option. With the new window that opens up, visit the Message Board and see if the issue persists or not with that mode enabled.

Edit: In a mulipage thread clicking on a page number also has the same problem as clicking next. It seems to go to a random point on the page selected.

This is happening with me also. I'm using Waterfox 18.0.1 on the PC, when I click "Next" or the page number to go to the next page of a multi-page thread it open the page at the bottom and I have to hit my 'Home' key.

Would it be possible for you to reinstall your browsers and see if the problem persists?

Would it be possible for you to reinstall your browsers and see if the problem persists? Uninstalled/installed Chrome - made no difference. Did wonder if it was to do with addons (Adblocker) but still does it with the extension on or off. Chrome is now Version 29.0.1547.62 m for info. Edit (7 minutes later) How odd. After posting the above went to the official signings thread and it was functioning normally again! Will update again later. Edit 2 Right now know why some multipage threads go to the top of the next page and some are random/chatroom. It all depends where you are on a page when you hit next page. When I did it on the signings thread I was at the top of a page and hitting new page takes you to the top of the next page. If you scroll down a bit and then next page it causes the random/chatroom problem. Hope this helps

It's seems that one or two people may be having this problem on other sites as well.
Just seen the following on the Proboards Support Site, so could you give this a go...sorry if this is all a bit long winded, but hopefully we'll get the problem sorted.
1. Go to any thread where this happens, click the next button 2. Once the page loads, don't scroll it up or down or modify it in any way 3. Take a screenshot of the entire browser window, URL bar included 4. Post the screenshot here
Post your screenshot on this thread, and I'll pass it on.

Any news on this? It's still a problem on Chrome. For info, I went to the Proboards support board and tried a couple of multipage threads there (FAQ's 2 page thread was one) and all worked fine. So it appears its the way Chrome handles this board.

Have the Admins just give up with trying to solve this problem? (Yes, it is still happening, & yes, only on this forum)

As I said before the threads on the Proboards support board works fine for me. The link above is a 2 page Proboards thread that flicked from the bottom of page 1 to the top of page 2 without a problem. The support thread stated for us by britannia is also working fine for me from bottom of 1 to top of 2 . Weird! The only thing left to add is I'm running Widows 7 Home Premium service pack 1.
