Because in the last three games (starting with Genoa) he has been up there with the players in our side who have seen most of the ball. Most of our attacks today came through right back and he just isn't a footballer. I like Cameron but the role he's been asked to play is beyond his capability because he does virtually nothing despite seeing shit loads of the ball.

I've never been a fan of Cameron I'm afraid.
He left Ryan completely exposed (in a footballing sense) repeatedly.
In the 2nd half Wilson recognised the problem and filled in several times at right back.

I have always said he looks like his legs are on the wrong way around. Very average but he does look like he has beefed up this season.

Cameron has shown that when he has the ball at his feet he can make use of it e.g. Southampton away last season provided a great cross for crouch, when defending he is slightly shaky, but for me I would put Wilson at RB and GC in the middle three, he there can provide the 'steel' that's needed in the middle

Ryan Shotton always saw a lot of the ball on the wing. It was because he was willing to take it and run in a straight line with it, while the opposition would happily let him receive it and then let him run it out.
It's a similar story to Cameron. The bigger worry is that he still doesn't have the first clue about playing at full back.

I've seen nothing since to convince me otherwise.

Even though the first half he was awful and all over the place. Cameron's fault of course.

I thought he played well today, still learning the role but gets forward well. Lets give him a few games before writing him off as our right back.

I don't have a problem with him at right back per se, I have a problem with how much of the ball he sees. Against Genoa it was obvious and against Liverpool it was backed up with a stat showing that he had the second most amount of touches by a Stoke player behind N'Zonzi. Most attacks are being started from right back I think it's a pre-planned thing. One I don't agree with unless we sign a new right back or try Wilson there possibly. I thought he was ok today but he saw a lot of the ball and did nothing with it.
Pieters was the opposite, things happened when we attacked the left but we didn't do it often enough.

In the 2nd half Wilson recognised the problem and filled in several times at right back. Now we play 433 it is down to the full backs to provide width for the team. It is the covering midfielders job to fill in when he does that. Perhaps Wilson should have been covering in the 1st half as well as it was only a problem when he didn't.

I just can't understand why Cameron is getting game time. I have Wilson, Wilko and Shotts ahead of him at right back. If LMH doesn't trust any of those 3 then he is going to have to dabble in the transfer markets for a right sided defender.

I'm unsure on Wilson at right back but he's better on the ball and with what Hughes is trying I think he's the best shout to play at right back for us. Or like You say we need a new right back and that's from someone who adamant it's the last thing we needed a month ago!

He's still not good on the ball by any stretch but at least he only looks like he's got the boots on the wrong feet whereas Cameron looks like he's got the wrong feet on his legs.

That incident in the second half where Cameron twice gave the ball away before hacking the striker down on the edge of the box to earn a yellow card sums the guy up as a defender.

We need a new right back if our manager thinks Cameron is the best player we have for that position.

From what I've seen so far of what Hughes is trying to do we need a ball winner in midfield and Cameron has a knack of winning the ball. And we need a decent footballer at right back, I think Wilson is a decent footballer who's just to slow in the feet and brain to cut it in midfield. Switching them could work wonders imo.
