The day we sign a convicted rapist is the day I stop supporting Stoke until said player leaves. Simple as that. Who are we after who is a convicted rapist ? Di Santo certainly isnt and Remi is only accused of it and not been formally charged. Or is The Oatcake now a kangaroo court ?

If there is any truth in this then Ill be gobsmacked. Why the hell would we focus our interest on an average striker from Wigan who doesnt usually start for them but turn a blind eye to a French International striker currently up for sale at QPR by the name of Loic Remy. Rape allegation aside, Remy is worth the money, a young, skilful and pact striker who scores goals. Di Santo wont bring anything to what we already have in our ranks in my opinion and would no doubt be another bench warmer. None of the alleged striker targets have really intrigued me so far, not even Oliviera. 'rape allegation aside' can't really put it aside so easily though can you Otherwise yes he looks the business on the pitch I didnt mean literally put it aside mate.

It's easy to knock those that have surfaced so give us your list!! Even if i had a list it would be in vain. That list would contain players like Defoe and Remy. Players that wont come here. Im being realistic. A striker who has scored goals in Serie B, a Man U cast off who also failed at Blackburn and an unproven portuguese youngster doesnt intrigue me, does it you then?

As if we aren't despised enough already.
I remember the Sh!t Steve Moran/Mark Wright got when they came to our place in the eighties too, couldn't stand that on the other foot

I know it's a bit off topic but I'm with stokies on this, I dunna mind motoring issues and the odd minor criminal matter but when we are talking about the most serious offences I draw the line. However I don't think for one minute our club would sign such a player. I not talking about anybody in particlar but I dunna care how good he was no thanks.

Loan with a view to a perm transfer in January (i.e. if he's not guilty)woudl amke sense though. *except Newcastle United, could easily see them speinding £6m only for him to go prison for a few years.

Di Santo: Runs a lot, chases lost causes, wins headers, works hard, doesn't score enough goals.
Can't see a player like that getting many games here...

I quite like Di Santo. I think he's underrated and didn't quite suit Wigan's system. Assuming Hughes will play Pulisball++, I think Di Santo will fit in well.

I once described Di Santo, along with his team mate whose name escapes me at the minute (bald youth who has now gone to Derby), as the only strikers in the Premier League worse than Jon Walters.
If he has gone elsewhere, that is good news for me.
Di Santo is pretty crap despite a little golden spell late in the season before last.
ps...Connor Sammon was the other bloke I was thinking of. Both are/were toss.

Off the BBC
"FOOTBALL TRANSFER - DONE DEAL Former Wigan striker Franco Di Santo has signed a three-year deal at Werder Bremen after passing a medical. The 24-year-old became a free agent after leaving relegated Wigan at the end of June. He scored five goals in 35 appearances last season."

Di Santo not prolific enough for us? Just who do we have at the moment who IS prolific then? Almost ANY striker would be an improvement!
