I seem to remember that Everton had three former Stoke players (+ the manager) in their squad during their great time in the mid-eigthies. Bracewell and Heath I am sure of, but I also seem to remember they bought a player named Parkin from us? Is that just something I imagine?

Pejic in the 70s,dont remember if he lasted into the 80s with Everton though. Former Everton and Stoke player Kendall became their manager.

There was Steve Parkin around that time, but I don't think he had anything to do with Everton. Might be wrong.

Peter Beagrie left us in 1989. Stayed at Everton until 1994.

I do like Everton as a club but in the 70's and 80's they seemed to pick up our best players when we were struggling which pissed me off! If you look at the players we sold during that time it would have made a great team. We were definitely a selling club. That's what's so great about now we seem to be keeping our better players. Cue Bego, Shawcross and Huth in deadline day moves! Shilton Dixon Bould Dodd Pejic Chamberlain Hudson Bracewell Thomas Chapman Greenhoff Subs: Moores Beagrie Crooks I know some may not exactly be the same era. But anyway.

And in my memory he couldn't pass for toffee until he got to the Toffees. A bit of a target for the boo boys like most local lads.

Most ( if not all ) were gutted when he spoke of his desire to leave He was a fantastic midfield player

I remember asking my (older) brotherw hy he (Brace) was getting the bird he couldnt tell me I also asked why Chapman got stick as well couldnt work it out at the time as he scored goals. I suspect Chapmans main crime was not being John Ritchie

Remember Steve Bould getting awful stick Ritchie Barker threw Bould in at rightback instead of Derek Parkin, and Bouldy looked anything but a fullback! Think he scored an amazing own goal in one of his first appearences (against West Ham?)

Yep there has been quite a few players being given the Boo boy treatment for no apparent reason. As a young kid watching Stoke I idolised Chapman but could never understand why he got the stick he did.
another player who got it and I couldn't work it out was Kav. He was a great player for us who always gave his all and never hid but got dogs abuse. his departure was far from ideal but how many of us would turn down an offer to quadruple our wages?

I think with Kavanagh mate people had accepted he was leaving and wished him well as he said he is only leaving as he wants to play at a higher level ...He then signed for Cardiff City I agree though with all you have said Steve Foley is another who got " the treatment " and for the life of me I could never work that one out
