I wonder if they will be running a free mini bus from the Lake District or whether they'll just pay taxi fare for us? Seriously, well done to the club - it won't help me but it is a great gesture.

Scholes is a bastard, I always go via train, what's he doing for me? Although this is all a cunnimg ruse to sell more Platinum Plus. Open your eyes! Excuse me if I am being thick but is this offer only open to PP members??

Excuse me if I am being thick but is this offer only open to PP members?? I thought exactly the same, but reading the statement on the OS it doesn't mention it. It think it was just a throw away comment made by momo and an excuse for doom mongering posters.

Great news for our away support - the difference the noise makes has to be worth the expense to the club especially at the 'library' grounds.
Won't cost the club much more than one fringe player on £10k per week, either.
Brilliant move from SCFC - I can't wait for the new season, absolutely buzzing...

Josh Whittaker-Vyse ? stokecity_joshw 1m Stoke City will be offering supporters FREE coach travel to EVERY SCFC Premier League away game in the 2013/14 season. #StokeCity WHOOP DE DOOO! you cant drink on official coaches, and some i've been on in the past....you can't even talk! It's a great move, and a step in the right direction towards affordable football. However, I shan't be using the service Are people that desperate to drink that they have to drink on a coach? superb by the club.
For the first time in over 30 years I didnt attend a single away match last season. That was mostly down to money so this can only help.

Are people that desperate to drink that they have to drink on a coach? Jesus wept. To answer your question mate.... Yes It might improve now under Mark Hughes, but away games under Pulis caused some very level headed blokes to almost become Alcoholics! For a lot of people that I know, travelling with Stoke isn't just about the match, it's about the whole day. That includes being with your mates, having a few ales and just having a good old time! It was Redknapp a few years ago who said Stoke was a special place, as Stoke fans don't see matches as entertainment on a saturday afternoon, he said for a large portion it's either an extension of their friday night or the beginning of their saturday night Like I said, it's an amazing gesture by the club and the benefit to families with 2/3/4 kids is incredible as it will almost half the cost of their days out, but i still know a large proportion of people won't take up the offer as they like to get a bit boozy on their away trips. It's not desperation as you put it, it's just the way some people like to enjoy themselves after week at work. If you can't understand that then....Jesus wept!

Say what you like about it, but there is an absolute shitload of positive Stoke City press all over the internet
BBC, ITV, Sky, all major newspapers carrying big stories on it
Messageboards of other teams praising the club to the hilt.
Great initiative, and I like that we have said 'fuck it' and just done it, even if the others havent committed.
Will be commonplace in a few years I reckon, and eventually a ticket price cap will be in place.

This is absolutely brilliant. A wonderful gesture by our club, and so long as there are no nasty little T&C's, e.g. only 2 coaches per match then we can be nothing but absolutely grateful. If people are so desperate for a pint then they can use the train or their own private coaches, nobody is stopping you. The rules are clear, you aren't allowed to drink on official coaches. It's to stop idiots that we see all the time, drinking far too much and then making the experience unpleasant for kids and people who just want to enjoy a game of football. Deal with it.

Fantastic gesture from Stoke, it wont really benefit me travelling from Cumbria but it's great to see a Football club thinking about it's supporters in these tough financial times.

Haven't travelled on coach much recently, but it is always satisfying to see a huge line of coaches filled with Stoke fans travelling through London or anywhere really! Blackburn away for free travel was a good one, and Arsenal away in the FA Cup a few years ago etc..

It is indeed a fantastic offer from stoke but all it really does is helps season ticket holders out as their bound too be jumping at the chance of every away game (who wouldn't) people like me who live away from stoke will suffer due too more than likely not being able to get a match ticket for away games now.
Well done stoke, great offer but hasn't really helped exile fans, in my opinion.

This is an excellent gesture from Stoke City as a club, its nice to see a club reward its fans for their support and loyalty in such a way, as a Spurs season ticket holder I can only dream of such a gesture coming from our chairman Daniel Levy, he has without doubt done a fantastic job in taking Spurs forward and growing our club over recent years, but unfortunately for our fans he wouldn't give us the steam of off his piss for free if he could help it.
