She says there's nothing too him and he's lean so it's no surprise that he's that quick if he's working out several days a week on a treadmill and has been doing so for years. He's also 21 which helps I've told her to tell him to race a 10K while he's in that sort of form and while he's young. Elbows Mike who you met, now v65, went sub 20 at a parkrun this morning

I've had a quiet couple of weeks on the running front. The weather hasn't helped, and it's been a busy time with Christmas etc.
Managed to get 4 miles in on Wednesday (which felt bloody hard work, after only 10 days off. I didn't think it would desert me that quickly!!).
Managed to get out and do 10k this afternoon too. Felt a bit more difficult than the ones I did a few weeks ago, and the time was slightly slower, but I'm glad I got it in the tank.
I need to renew efforts through the winter months, in prep for the half in March.

Elbows Mike who you met, now v65, went sub 20 at a parkrun this morning Which Parkrun was that chap? Salford, but it now looks like the timers/scanners made a mistake and he needed to add on another minute still an excellent time though.

It was cold on the heights on Sunday and the mustering, stop/ start probably didn't help. At one point on the long straight stretch to Longsdon I mustered twice which is a first for me I heard someone say they'd done 15.5 which is going some on a 12.5 mile route. Parkrun again tomorrow thought I'd have another go because I can't do it on Saturdays. Hanley 9:00 AM Wammy 10:30 AM Congleton 9:00 AM

Well, I’m not up to your standards but started the couch to 5k in September having done zero running since I left school. As an overweight, 53 year old ex smoker I found it hard but by the end I was able to run 5k.
Since then I’ve managed to do 5k in under 30, run a full 10k and today completed my first park run. No big achievement by your standards but ok for me.
If anyone’s thinking of getting fitter for 2020 and you’re worried you can’t, just do it. If I can anyone can. You CAN do it 👍
