Anyone know if the Cheddleton 10k record was broken? It was showing 30 minutes on my mobile when he came past me with about a minute of running left I think it would be close but just over. He's a fabulous runner. I would guess not because I was in the hall for the presentation and didn't hear anyone mention it. I was unfortunately preoccupied feeding cake and drinks to a runner who was struggling.

Anyone know if the Cheddleton 10k record was broken? He missed it by 5 seconds I think. Very impressive run nonetheless. I'm sure I was told that he was spotted as a junior at that very race some years back.

Yes he's a local lad, might even be Cheddleton. I first saw him run in the Cheadle 4 a couple of years back just after he'd come back from training in the States. It's cruel really he'd won the Cheadle 4 after about 400 metres

I have the misfortune to sit down on a regular basis to sit down with several oldtimers who regularly tell me how fast it was back in the day Some of the stats from the olf Milton 10K and the Michelin 10 mile race were eye watering. I remember one stat that the first 700 runners in the Michelin 10 miler were under 70 minutes and there were several sub 50, the race being won by a local in around 46 minutes.

Interestingly if you look at some of their times in the Vet categories it would suggest that the courses are still short

Everyone know's Cliftons time he set was on a 6 mile course and when they made it a 10k they kept the time and it was on a different course!!

I'm struggling to think how you could change that course.

Even so, unbelievable time! I've seen some of the old race times and even if the allegation of short courses were true, I don't think I would have even been top half of the results!

I'm sure that's what I read a while ago. Like I said, impressive pace either way.

50.00 for Telford 10k, and to be honest disappointed with it. Just couldn't get going after about 2 miles or so
Winner finished in around 29.30

1.17 for the Tatton Yule yomp 10k last Sunday, my slowest 10k ever. me and another guy from the club dressed as santa's had backpacks with mulled wine, cups, cakes and chocolate and stopped every mile for the ladies to catch up and we'd have a drink and eat. We all crossed the line together with a cup of mulled wine and a cake in our hands

I was over in Lanzarote for the running festival which took place last Saturday and can recommend it to anyone thinking of going on an overseas tour. Marathon, half marathon and a 10K so there's something for everyone and the socials are pretty good as well. About 2,500 competitors and just under half from the UK and Ireland.
Local representation from Trentham RC, Newcastle TC, Newcastle AC, Biddulph RC. South Cheshire Harriers and even a small insular club like Stone Master Marathoners had 25 runners

Don't think I've ever seen a bunch of a hundred plus bananas before. Your club captain looked knackered

Age graded PB (& 3rd best time ever) for me at parkrun yesterday. Anyone in London - Victoria Dock is eye wateringly fast course. Pan flat, all on tarmac and because of that it seems to attract a fast crowd and hence there were some speedy runners to work with

Over 650 at Countryside Centre too on Christmas Day, with plenty of Christmas spirit on offer too! Again, someone else on that long road to a marathon
