I was there and remember the Puskas shot - I don't know about snapping it off but it was vibrating for quite a time after.
Karl-Heinz Schnellinger for me - just the attacking full back we need today.
In terms of building the Stoke City "brand" waddo and pulis were miles apart - Waddo earned genuine respect amongst the football community - for pulis, despite his charity work, this was grudging at best and outright ridicule at worst.

Matthews, Charlton, Yashin, Puskas, Di Stefano, Gento, Kopa... all on the same pitch. Did anyone on here see this match? EDIT: Forgot Eusebio as well. I was there, brilliant!

Mum & Dad went, always been told, that night they could'nt get a babysitter, so they took it in turns holding me. I was 1 year old, does that count.

All our yesterdays seem like last week looking at those names.Unbelievable to think back and remember such talent playing at the Vic.

Wow, just read the pre-match entertainment consisted of another match of two veteran teams featuring many legends of the game.
Harry Johnston led out a team consisting of: Bert Trautmann; Tim Ward; George Hardwick; Jimmy Hill; Neil Franklin; Don Revie; Stan Mortensen; Nat Lofthouse; Jimmy Hagan; Tom Finney; and Frank Bowyer (reserve).
Walley Barnes led out an opposing team consisting of: Jimmy O'Neill; Jimmy Scoular; Danny Blanchflower; Jimmy Dickinson; Hughie Kelly; Bill McGarry; Jackie Mudie; Jackie Milburn; Jock Dodds; Ken Barnes; and Arthur Rowley (reserve).[68]
Respect!

'Twas a night that will long live in the memory of those who were fortunate to see the game. So many greats including Yashin. But he was in good company that night. OS. The traffic jam on the A34 before the match went back to Trentham Gardens Unprecedented for those of us on the Barlaston bus
