I'd want £15m for Asmir.
£20m if they are putting Downing in the deal.

Bego should be aiming for Champions League asap. Liverpool are light years away from qualification so that's not a great move for him.

downing is better than we gice him credit for and better suited to a smaller club.
id take him and the right amount of cash now for bego.

Is he that good though or is he past his best? I suppose it's how much of the 15m Downing makes up?

When/who was our last "swap" deal?
I was under the impression they very rarely happen these days.
Football is now more of a business, if we want to sell Bego to Liverpool and they want to buy then there is a price and likewise Downing the other way. Why "swap" anyone? Just take the Bego money and spend it on a player/players of our choice from a club/clubs of our choice.
These swaps seem very amateur, like trying to save the accounting cost of a transaction.
What am I missing?!

I think it was, with Lawrence and Kitson going the other way. I never quite understand why an "exchange" though. Surely all 3 players simply have a price. Maybe this one had something to do with Portsmouth not having 2 coins to run together and therefore an exchange which brought in some cash at the same time simply worked well for them. I don't suppose either us or Liverpool would have that problem.

They really think they are the bees knees don't they?
Begovic can do better than them, even if he has to stay here for a couple more years.

Be surprised if Bego went to Liverpool. He can do better; the scousers are no longer top drawer and are a long way off from being champion league challengers. He may as well stay with us.
But if those scouse muppets are looking to offload Downing, we should get in there; he'd be good us.

Downing is a very decent player, and all this "If Downing plays...." stuff is just garbage imho.
he's no world beater, but he's miles ahead of what we currently have at our disposal out wide.

I'd take Downing. Think he would be good for us and us good for him especially when I look at our other wingers...
However as others have pointed out I think Begovic has the potential to play for a club that is now further up the food chain than the scousers.

Not a chance in hell.
There's more chance of Pulis becoming manager of REAL MADRID.
...and I AM UNANIMOUS.

8-10m + Downing would do for me.
Or Bego + 5m for Downing & Carroll

I'd take a minimum of 7 million + Downing for Bego. I don't like him much as a bloke but he's a very decent player and just what we need.

Bego should be aiming for Champions League asap. Liverpool are light years away from qualification so that's not a great move for him. Couldn't disagree more,I fully expect Liverpool to challenge for the top four next season. They have shown some great form this year and if they can add two or three quality players in the close season they won't be far off. Back to the OP point,I would take Downing as part of the deal and would jump at the chance of taking Carroll chucked in as well.
