I want TP gone but I'm over the moon and relieved to win 2 in a row and we are staying up. Plus I found out JLS are splitting up, all I needed was to win the lottery, but 2/3 aint bad.

Well done to the team and Tony Pulis. All but secured our spot for next season in on of the hardest leagues in the world. 18 teams have been relegated since we returned to the prem and apart from a poor run this year we've easily reached saftey. Statistics of a good manager is the way I see it, and I for one applaud that. Well done.

The thought of having to go through another season like this one is enough to dampen any short-term joy at survival.
All the wasted millions - the unused signings, the unsuitable players, the lack of what was required, playing politics, etc, etc...
A line needs to be drawn under the current season, quickly and decisively, so we hit the ground running under a new manager and HIS team in August...

Unfortunately our last to victories just paper over the cracks and whilst I'm happy for them to be merely papered over for the time being I fear the same cracks will be there next season.

I think if TP went at the end of the season we stayed up and we got ourselves a young vibrant manager the place would really start buzzing. I think it's the fear that TPs staying and that nothing will change next season in our style of play. And who are these vibrant young managers ? We have a tried and trusted one who has been very successful at the club. For sure it has been a tough few months and there needs to be a change in the personnel on the pitch, but we would be taking an enormous risk in getting rid of the manager to appease those who's answer when asked the question who should be manager say 'anyone but Pulis'.

Funny how all the calls for unity etc go out the window when a few people feel comfortable enough in Pulis to start lording him as a messiah again isnt it?

Apologies; I have posted this elsewhere but let’s be real about all of this: 1. We might, just might, be staying up with 40ish points; 2. There is a vociferous minority of fans who are fed up with the football we play, are fed up with Pulis and his style and who want a change; 3. The majority of Stoke fans rightly (in my view) prize premier league status above personalities. So…. what is going to happen? Stoke is a business like any other, a commercial enterprise with a P/L account and a balance sheet. We have a board which has funded this club handsomely and, I suspect, has taken a “hit” in doing so if you look at the underlying finances as opposed to what you can see in public. Is TP the right man? I do not profess sufficient expertise or knowledge to give you an answer and before I get swamped with abusive replies about how we play and what we achieve, from a business perspective it is difficult to argue with the fact we have had five years in the PL which is, to be frank, more than I could have imagined a decade ago. I have every sympathy, actually I am with, those who want us to play an expansive and entertaining brand of football but not if we do a Blackpool and go down in doing it. The truth is that, after God knows how many years and after a buy out from a foreign consortium (how sad we got a bunch of Icelanders rather than Arabs), we are “only” an ordinary Premier league side. As a lifelong Potter and a regular attendee at both home and away games, we should be careful what we wish for. I think that this weekend’s punditry has been quite interesting. Garth Crooks on Final Score for the first time I have ever heard admitted to being an ex Stoke player who remembered us being on top of the old division 1 and thought the fans were right to want more entertaining football. BBC’s Pearce (like him or loathe him) said that this team was “coming to the end” and needed refreshing; Merson on Sky and Shearer on MOD felt we had got back to what we did best, so however frustrated we get as fans it is not black and white. I have to admit that TP ducked the written media press conference and left Kemp to deal with it having done the TV (which speaks legions) but it is what it is. TP is just like any other MD who has to answer to his board in the end. He does not deserve some of the unbridle vitriol he gets on this site and others and I suspect the trolls who just dump on him, would not in truth be happy if we were in the Championship playing so called better football. That being said, even his worst detractors do have a point of view that is worth listening to. If we do stay up, I have no doubt that the Coates family will do what, in their view is right for the business. If it were me, I would put TP on a performance based contract which meant he was not guaranteed a year’s salary and if he didn’t like it I would dump him in the summer. I would rather lose him than allow our brand to be further diminished as it has been this season. I would also, if I were PC, be prepared to back TP for one further round in the market provided he got the key positions filled; equally, if he didn’t he is out early doors. Let us just hope we have done enough; I think we have but if the board do back TP in the summer and beyond our primary reponsibility is to back the club we love. Remember- Club, Country, Self! I really don't believe a change in personnel on the pitch is going to significantly improve things though Ian. Do you? We've had loads of personnel in over the last two years and many haven't even made the first team never mind improved us. Those that have made it generally seem to be turning in performances way below their capability. The cause of our problems, or people's dissatisfaction is Tony Pulis. The way that stoke play under tony is not going to change regardless of who he spends the family's money on. So we're left with a clear choice, stay the same, put up and shut up, and hope we manage to have enough dropping lucky for us to avoid the drop year on year, or, try something new. It's not really anyone but Pulis. There are many managers who I'd rather not have replace him, but, I'm certain that there are also many who old do better than him. It's a risk, granted, but I think it's one worth taking.

Has no clue where to go from here, either in terms of goals for the club or actually building a squad rather then a team of his current favourites and "the rest". Fuck him off pronto. Move this dour, sex-doll faced cloud from our horizon

just my opinion rob coates isn't giving much away What are these signs though chatty? Isn't it odd that Coates is being so non-committal when the easiest thing in the world would be to come out and say the manager was definitely staying?

As happy as I am with the two wins, this season has been a complete waste. We never should have been anywhere near relegation.
What were we meant to see after the three year plan?
Does anyone that wants him to stay honestly think we've moved forward in the last two seasons?
I can sort of understand not progressing if we didn't have any money or someone sold the family jewels but they certainly haven't happened.
Seriously, how hard is it to get a fullback rather than another centreback or striker that doesn't fit the system?? That in itself is pretty unforgivable

perhaps you're right my thinking was that if he was leaving there would be more evidence of unrest than there is I reckon there is unrest behind the scenes. The major changes we've started to bring in this season in terms of structure are very much at odds with Tony Pulis' management style.
