Wasn't there 2 bookies giving odds before? Now only Bet Victor. Although the rest probably don't do odds till confirmation there is a job available.
Tbh if Rafa does want to stay in England, surprises happen & I wouldn't rule out anything, when people want something anything can happen & as the saying goes, money talks!

I agree with Geoff, think Rafa's just ruled himself above a Stoke job with that. Me too. I think last night's result and performance will have bumped up Rafa's overseas credibility even more. He may like the UK, but I can see some big bucks euros being wafted his way to move abroad - Spain/France maybe?

Di Matteo's gone odds-on this morning. OddsI would be disappointed with Matteo, although that disappointment would be tempered by the choice of his number 2. Steve Holland would be great.

If Mourinho gives Steve Holland a sideways shove, and he arrives with Di Matteo, then I could live with that.
Di Matteo and Eddie Newton would make me a bit nervous.
Edit: Great minds, chell-rosey.

All fans have views of their manager, here is one from yesterday before the game from a Chelsea "fan" Don't agree that this season 'has been a big success 100%' We have lost in the FA Cup & League Cup at the semi final stage......lost the World Club Final.....and could still finish 4th, rather than 3rd, which means early qualifying for the CL. Yes, Rafa has got us into next seasons CL.....just.....but we could have easily been clear in 2nd place!! Win the Europa League tonight & it will have been an ok season. Rafa needs to accept he is not the great manager he thinks he is.....there are better managers around......but good luck to him in the future! If Mourinho gives Steve Holland a sideways shove, and he arrives with Di Matteo, then I could live with that. Di Matteo and Eddie Newton would make me a bit nervous. Edit: Great minds, chell-rosey. Some of the RDM chat on here has featured Holland. And that'd be interesting as Coates would obviously know him from his previous employment here - and would that potentially feed into the Academy emphasis? RDM with Steve Holland as assistant manager. I'm not ITK but I trust my information enough to have a sizeable bet on it. 26/04/2013 GBP 100.00 Single: ROBERTO DI MATTEO @ 4/1 B Time: 18:09 Bet Type: Single Stake: £ 100.00 EVENT SELECTION PRICE E/W TERMS STATUS NEXT PERMANENT MANAGER STOKE CITY SPECIALS Outright - Specials Roberto Di Matteo 4/1 Win only Unsettled Just back after dinner with some old friends. One of their friends, whom seemed a steady chap, claimed he knew a member of the Coates clan (not the main three) and based on what he was told, he has stuck £1k on Di Matteo as the next Stoke manager. I have no idea if his 'inside' info is true, but my friends seem to think he was on the level. Either way, he showed the booking slip, which did indeed verify the bet Would not say - cept not one of the core three. My friends indicated he did roam in those circles and they are too old to bullshit. But all I saw was a receipt confirming the bet I may as well come clean and say that's what I've been told with ray Wilkins or steve holland as assistant. But hey ho he's not going anywhere is he ;-) [/quote] This source of mine doesn't do bullshit or false rumour-mongering. Apparently, RDM has already agreed to become Stoke gaffer in the Summer. I don't post rumours for the sake of it. The odds in some quarters have been slashed from 66/1 to 6/1 in some quarters on Di Matteo next Stoke boss.

The awkward moment when after all of the speculation over a new manager Pulis is still here next season! Seems to be a lot of rumours and talk about Di Matteo though which is backed up by the slash in odds. It will be interesting to see who, if anyone, we do get in over the summer

Fullermagic you are now offically my favourite poster on here, you save me so much time searching through every thread. The odds slashing means very, very little in these markets. The bookies know that they are prone to gossip and that some of that gossip is correct. they will slash the odds after little more than few £100 bets on anyone i imagine.

Montpellier coach Rene Girard would welcome a move to England. Everton, Stoke City and Fulham have all been mentioned as potential destinations for the 59 year-old. He told Midi Libre: "I still do not know what I'll do next year. I'm very tempted by an experience in England. It's an important league with major football projects and excellent sports facilities." www.tribalfootball.com/articles/montpellier-coach-girard-puts-everton-stoke-notice-3957901?utm_source=main_feed#.UZTDgXl2SFkSeems late in the day to throw in outsiders, the amount of speculation mounting seems to show somethings imminent. Reckon this guy would be a good choice? Won the league with Montpellier in 11/12, has managed the French u16, u18 and u21 teams so a massive tick in the academy box, and because he's a bit of a wildcard he'd come with no fan-splitting baggage. Go get him Pete!
