Sad news indeed. Heart goes out to family and friends - Warey & the Beast summed up (for me) that *true* fighting spirit of Stoke City often lacking in more recent times......and will always remember *that* goal !!! Rest peacefully fellah.

Sad,sad news.
A cherished memory is being in the packed ranks of Stokies behind the goal that night at Peterboro when Warey hit a fulminating drive to send us to Wembley for the first time since 1972.
RIP Paul Ware :-(

RIP Tupper.
One of my first Stoke heroes. Felt like he played half his career in a cast!!!
That night at London Rd, the goal, the mental, even the knowledge that i wouldn't be going to the final couldn't take the shine of it.

Like many have already said, what a great night he gave us with that goal at London Road. More than that though, he was part of that Macari era group of players who gave us our dignity back after years of failure and humiliation.
RIP Paul

I was there in Peterborough that night and at the right angle to see that ball fly in. But I remember him for being a whole hearted and down to earth player who obviously took great pride in what he did. Shocking news, genuinely. If his family read this I'd like to wish them all the best.
