There's nothing to defend with our style of play 99.9% of Stokies are perfectly happy with Pulisball, .... I must be the point 1 then. +1

The problem is more complicated, you're correct. The problem is Tone thinking you can stick any player with a bit of a high profile name into our system and just magically expect it to work. It doesn't and it hasn't. Isn't that what the fans want though Jamo, playing devils advocate a bit. Let's say theoretically speaking that we stuck with the same team that played in the cup final last season and this season and we finished 12th in both, still playing the same way/system. Wouldn't we all be crying out for TP to go and sign someone like Crouch for example ? And possibly for him to go if he didn't? Erm, no?

Lets not pretedn Pulis ball has ever been good to watch as it hasn't. Lets not pretend that if done right it good to watch as it isn't. Most Stoke fans tolerated it as it got results, but as with anything that's living 30 years in the past it will get left behind. Also please don't mention around the time of the FA cup run as that was more like normal football that most teams play. Great post! Pulisball as always been shit and a lot of people get taken in by the result not the skill and technique. What is good about having the ball for 30% of a game and having 3 shots on target? This Pulisball is best played with wingers bollocks? Some people only see what they want to! Let's be honest here the things that make a good game which we are involved in are opposition (Manchesters, Arsenal, Chelsea ) and the atmosphere that crowd use to generate until Pulis managed to ruin that as well

When we had Pennant and Etherington firing on all cylinders we were good for a while but without the outlet of Fuller teams quickly realised that they could easily negate the threat by doubling up on the wingers, pushing them back and denying them space to run at them. Normally that would give space for centre midfielders, creative or otherwise and full backs et al to use the space but under Tony's tactics these people are caged, therefore we lump it up aimlessly to static forwards who are unsuitable for the role they are being asked to play. [/quote] I totally agree that it's not all down to the wingers. Our/Tony's biggest downfall was not finding a Fuller replacement 2 seasons ago (OK, we tried with Ba and Remy etc). Did he seriously think that the likes of Jerome could have the same effect as Fuller?

What's good about stringing 20/30 passes together if you still lose 3-0? Just giving the other argument.

Let's face it.....Ronaldo and Bale would suit any managers style. What a stupid fucking statement. Mind you it suits the incredible level of self denial that is apparent in the whole article.

Tuesday, 29th January v Wigan. N'Zonzi and Adam both start. 1-0 HT. 2-0 48 mins. Do we go for more goals as Wigan begin to rock? No- hold on to what we've got. 2-2 Pulis subs N'Zonzi and Adam in attempt to avoid defeat and claims he rescued one point.
Just about sums up our season and what is wrong.

In 37 years following this football club I don't think I've ever read such utter s*** from a manager or felt as patronised.
It's embarrassing beyond even the realms of Brenton at Anfield. Does he actually believe this?

Does he actually believe this? I've really tried to be balanced about Tony Pulis. To give him the respect that his work at Stoke deserves. But I am sorry the bloke is a complete and utter knob. The quicker he's out of the club the better. I really think Coates is deluded to keep faith with this clown. There's troubled times ahead and it could get very, very ugly.

I quite enjoyed the double page spread that The Currant Bun afforded us today. I thought their nether pages may have been clogged with photos of famous sporting Thatchers etc... 80's icons, Tory boys in short shorts, broken playgrounds and sportsdayfunerals, calcium deficient athletes, ID cards, Maggie and Dennis in candid PE knicker snaps or some such. But no, none of it, instead there were two pages of Stoke... So it was a pleasant surprise to have Tony's capped fizzog thrust at me in the boozer tonight. Look at this: a two page spread... woooooh.. Good read, but biased towards their particular bent for tragedy and mither, digging into the Adam situ for a sprinkling of human interest/Jeremy Kyle type tragedy.. but you can't read owt much into a Sun interview can you?. Unless you are like me, being very suggestible, and found solice in Tony's expression of his vision of 'Evolution with hiccups'.. I Believe.
Cher outfit for sunday... the backstrap won't be pretty...anyone got a second hand vocoder?

I've never really had a problem with some of the manager's daft statements in the media so long as we are doing the business on the pitch.
This article - particularly given the timing - is absolutely fookin ridiculous.
He is fast becoming a parody of himself and whoever is in charge of PR at Stoke is about as switched on as a black and white telly

He needs to just keep his dopey gob shut now and apply himself to the job in hand. This. Surely someone at the club needs to point out to him that everyone is wanting to get on the same page but the more he spouts the more angry people are getting.

To be fair to Tone, Ronaldo and Bale would be ace in our team. Both big, physical, pacey and good in the air. He loves a floaty, in between many positions whilst not keeping the shape sort of player does our Tone.

Financial restrictions? Is he taking the piss or what. A veiled dig at the January transfer-window? Which may explain the last few months- I was going to say 'point-scoring' but it's hardly the most apt turn of phrase at the minute is it?

He has on his last legs in my opinion. Trying his hardest to convince some of the few that still believe in him that everything is alright. But to be honest the majority saw past his mindless ramblings weeks ago. That's enough about Stafford Stokie, what are your thoughts on the article?

Oh, I see. Tone's on a big elaborate wind up now is he, taking the piss out of all of his detractors and have a good chuckle with Kempo behind his hands? He could probably have done that when he was getting the Cup Final, leading his team into Europe and giving the likes of Arsene Wenger a bloody nose. Not now though. Not when his football is leading our club down Lavatory Alley and he can only beat teams who end up, or will end up, being relegated. Daft post. Que? It was a joke, as in, he should sign them.
