It's a matter of time. I just hope the decision is made sooner rather than later.

I'd always accepted that even if we got rid, we shouldn't do it until after this season had finished. For the first time, I'm now thinking he needs to go now.

I think TP knows he's a gonna, the problem is when he gets the boot from his job he usually kicks up a stink.
My worry is that he thinks, " if i've got to go,then i'm taking you with me".
He's upto something because the results/performance/his own words in interviews are utter utter piss taking shit.
He's laughing his bollocks off at us fans,he dunna give a monkeys anymore.
I'm fast starting to hate the man and his repeatative drivel.
Same press conference/line up/tactics/excusses every fucking week.

New manager/dead cat bounce could see us over the line. It's hard to see how we could do any worse. But it'd be impossible to spin as anything other than a sacking. Coates would think the least he owes him is saving him from the ignominy of the axe. And, over the summer, you'd think all parties would ultimately try and spin a May departure as as a mutual/taking a break/sabbatical/keys to the city job.

Teams who get rid of their manager very often experience a bounce. But then there's the voice inside my head that keeps repeating the word "Kamara." I'm almost tempted to use the phrase 'be careful what you wish for'.

Stakes are too high for game playing on this grand scale though, aren't they? I think he's just an outrageously stubborn man who has completely lost the plot.

TP is doing it the TP way.
We know its wrong,he knows its wrong but he'll be fucked if he ever admits it.thats why he's carrying on as is.
He has to prove that 27000 fans are all fucking nuts and he knows best.
TP is a bitter bastard that has the idea that its his way and anything else is wrong.
Look at the players that have come and gone that should of improved us as a team.
For what ever reason they have upset him and they never get another look in,despite how good they are. He's very good at being "billy big bollocks".

Whatever we think of TP, Coates is an astute and successful businessman. Financially, out of all of this, who has the most to lose?
I'm just hoping that PC has a good Plan B up his sleeve.

Didn't want him spending this summer, but if something doesn't change then there won't be anything to spend. Villa is absolutely crucial Win = momentum and hope Lose = deep in the shore. Toss of a coin if we survive or not

This won't go down well but I have less faith than I have in Pulis, in Coates to replace him.
Bar the odd exception, Coates' appointments have been utter shit.
Ball Paddon Bates Little Kamara Jordan Megson
The only two that stick out are Lou and, ironically, Pulis.

I'm hoping that those appointments were down to the old style 'Pinky and Perky' who were tbf, pretty potless. Nowadays we have 'The Family' who will hopefully have some input, we also have some dosh, well we do unless they let Pulis piss the rest of it up the wall before he goes. Having said that, I remain convinced he'll be here next season, until Xmas at least.

In fairness, at the time of their appointments, Ball, Little, Kamara and Jordan seemed to be fairly sound. They all got quickly found out, but whether that would have happened so quickly with some form of financial backing is open to question. They'd all had some form of success elsewhere. On the flip side, Lou was the best appointment he ever made, and that was only because two or three other managers had turned us down.

This thread really worries me - whether to stick or twist. Sunderland have played their hand, PC and "The Family" need to weigh up the consequences of missing out on the pot of gold against loyalty to the man who got us here in the first place......
I was in the "end of the season" camp, and would even accept TP staying if there was a firm commitment from the club to change our approach (and evidence that he could) BUT, like many I am crapping it and wondering if he stays and we go down there'll be massive fallout re us not having grasped the nettle NOW while it's still in our own hands...
Whilst I would stop short of suggesting TP would purposely set us up to have the worst chances of winning a match (I'm sure there's nothing he'd like more than to shove it back down the throats of the doubters), I think his beligerance in team selection, tactics & substitutions is beyond pig-headedness and suggests that he cannot see the big picture here and has lost the plot - folk underestimate the pressure managers are under and the behavioural effects it can have on the most rationale of folk when they (deludedly or otherwise) try to prove that their way is the right way whatever the cost....
This is the scenario faced by Coates - whether to make a painful but neccessary executive decison (as per Sunderland) or decide the risk of making a change at a crucial time so close to the final curtain is higher than the former.....not an enviable decision I have to say.....

I presume that TP's contract is heavily incentivised. If we stay up he gets a minimum £1,000,000 bonus? Even TP could not be so stubborn to pass up on an extra million quid?

You realise looking at this that PC maybe good at making millions, but he hasn't got a clue about football. He's done well with TP, but looks like its going to end in tears.
