For all to see this year, especially in the cups.
Massively overpaid, over hyped, poor footballers and managers stealing a living. United won the league by March with their worst side in years.

Madrid aren't great this year, it was a good result for Man Yoo but I expected them to at least draw over there.
Arsenal vs Bayern will be the acid test imo. Although I think Arsenal may worry them but eventually lose.

P 11 W 10 D 1 L 0 F 27 A 1 I really hope it's as painful for the Arse as it seems it could be.

That England game against Brazil gave me a nagging doubt though. Walcott ripped that Dante fella apart and he's the mainstay of the Bayern defence that has only conceded 7 all season in the league. Walcott made him look like Paul Williams.

And Dante nailed Wilshere twice with two very late tackles, I just think it will be a ploy of theirs to target him and draw him out like England did.

Guess we'll have to wait til Tuesday, Bayern! Any possibility of an Arsenal hammering is must watch TV, though! Some seasoned Bundesliga watchers are raving about the Dante kiddie. But it's always hard to weigh up how strong a league is. It's not a vintage Premier League, though, to say the least! Let's face it, the claims of any league that we're sitting in 10th position in, to be the best in the world, are on the thinnest of thin ice!

It's a great brand, but a bit like Heinz beans, not worth the extra cost!

I still think Bayern will win but just watching him especially against the Arsenal fannies in the England side made me think.
Maybe he just had an off night, I don't know but I wasn't impressed but it's harsh to judge on one game obviously.
The Bundesliga clubs took a pasting in the Europa League which was a surprise.

Just think that all the money has made some managers and players lazy.
We're miles behind European sides.

I've said it before but it's worth repeating, together with Sky the Prem League leads the world in marketing itself and that's about it.

I think the quality of the German and Spanish top leagues is better now than that of our premier league.

We are 10th FFS that says it all, and we only play half the amount of league games compared to other premier league teams.

Time to finally acknowledge that the establishment of the Premier League was a huge mistake and to take steps to rectify our game. Abolish the Premier League, bring back Divisions One, Two, Three and Four, share gate receipts 50/50 between any two teams who play each other and share the television money evenly throughout all four divisions.

Wenger will concede defeat, the French usually do when Germans attack em. ;D This sounds a bit like something Brian Clough would say. I remember him saying something about the Dutch being "unreliable", and then as an example of it saying how "the Germans invaded Holland and took it over in less an hour"

I actually prefer Heinz baked beans to any other brand and always pay the extra. And having sampled the second and third tier with Stoke I would never swap it for the Prem. but I'm easily pleased I suppose. ;D
Though take on board all the over paid stuff.

So what is the best league Pugs? Because if we're going off that measurement then you can rule La Liga and the Bundesliga out (both of which have a 15 point gap at the top of the table).

If anything, the Italian teams seem to be getting stronger, Juve, Napoli, Milan etc have picked up in the last couple of years and are competing with the big boys again, a few years ago our sides were smashing them at home and away.
The German league for me has it right in so many ways should be the blueprint with regards to ownership of clubs cost of tickets, free rail fare etc the average attendance in the Bundesliga is over 10000 more than the Prem you do the math.
I can't wait for the Prem to go pop!

Milan are in a period of transition too really, I think in the next 2/3 years though they'll become the force we expect them to be again. I think at the moment big negatives can planted on all of the big leagues. The Bundesliga though definitely seems to be the best to me though. Although with the attendance thing I'd like to see it as a percentage to overall population, there's what 15/20 million more Germans than us afterall.

Although with the attendance thing I'd like to see it as a percentage to overall population, there's what 15/20 million more Germans than us afterall. I am not a fan of the Premier League and will follow Stoke in whatever league they happen to be in but I still think it is the best league in the world. The German League has got it right in terms of seating and drinking etc and i think it has got it right in terms of attendance. If you look at where it has come from historically in terms of attendance it is very similar to the UK ( from the 70's onwards)but it is now improving year on year. Our attendances have improved but I think we have lost a lot of hard core fans at the expense of "tourists". i think Germany is improving its hard core fan base rather than a few 'look-sees'. Interestingly enough for a saddo, the Italian league had far and away the best attendances up until 1992 at which point people semed to want to watch the Premier League. As a marketing exercise the PL has been spectacularly successful. As a game that represents the people it has been a load of bollocks. Unfortunately, that is now the reality that we have created. I, for one, would be happy to see the PL go 'pop'.
