Done. Can you update the map. I've only just realised you live in Brussels ;D For some reason I thought your location said Stafford. Re Brussels, is it true that prostitution is pretty much legal in those parts? Is it pretty easy to get hold of cannabis too? In other words..is Brussels pretty similar to Amsterdam in terms of the "law"?

Though there is an area (extremely rough) that's like the red light district with woman posing in windows, etc. Cannabis is about as readily available as it is in the UK. So pretty much on any street corner. Same for the harder drugs. As an FYI, they're phasing Cannabis out in Holland now. It's ONLY available to people that have a Dutch passport and live in Holland. I went to Maastricht a few weeks ago and every coffee shop is monitored with street camera's. We tried to buy some weed/grass/hash/bush/puff/etc, but were rejected due to the above reason. They have signs all over the place confirming that too. I can't see the coffee shops lasting long without the customary foreign investment and even the ones we entered were empty, bar 2 or 3 locals.

Really, wow thats very interesting and i'm very glad you told me. I do like the odd spliff or two and funny enough I was looking at visiting for those very reasons over the April period. I'm genuinly staggered that they've done that re the coffee shops because like you say..that was an extremely lucrative tourist attraction. So foster, would you recommend against travelling there if one's sole intention is to smoke the sacred herb? Is this law implemented heavily in Amsterdam too or are they still open to most tourists? I think thats quite a sad state of affairs. The freedom and uniqueness of Holland was inspirational. Looks like they are just turning into your standard European city. I have some great memories of visiting there. Cheers for the info chap.

Only to border cities to stop foreigners coming over just to buy weed. Just found an article to confirm it... Amsterdam is exempt. www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/netherlands/9740463/Tourists-exempted-from-ban-on-smoking-cannabis-in-Amsterdam.html

Thanks for that though mate. They should legalise it at the Brit so watching Pulisball is less of a chore

Lighthouse I camped on the beach at the Hook of Lewis in 2008. We went for dinner in a restaurant with old Elvis and Johnny Cash records on the wall. We were the only ones in there but the young girl serving us still managed to smash a glass. We lay awake worrying that a freak high tide would drown us and in the end gave up, took the tent down in the middle of the night and slept in the car. Good times. lighthouse here sorry for the delay im in longton at the moment at me daugthers ,been up there 13 years now its a smashing place to live
