Never quite understood the antagonism towards Wolves. Famous old club with loyal fan base. Sometimes we're in the same league, sometimes we beat them, sometimes they beat us, and they used to be in South Staffs. What's the big deal? Well I suppose you have never been stabbed in the leg by one of their fans while getting kicked in the head by another. I don't suppose you have ever witnessed 6 of them start on one Swedish bloke in Spain for absolutely no reason, I don't suppose you have ever been hit by a rock in their car park after a match. That's the big deal to me. So all the Wolves fans get tarred with the same brush? That's as bad as those people who stereotype all Stoke fans as violent idiots and project that bigoted nonsense onto the club itself, thanks to the similar antics of our thoughtless minority. The Wolves fans I know would no sooner do what you have experienced and witnessed than I would.

The Wolves fans I know would no sooner do what you have experienced and witnessed than I would. They are just three separate incidents that I chose to use, I have many more. YOU asked what the big deal was, I told you what the big deal was to me and I'm sure plenty of other people have incidents which make them feel the way they do about Wolves fans. I would also add that the first two incidents I have mentioned were not football related or in a football environment, and had it not been for their accents and them wearing their footy tops I wouldn't have known who the fuck they were. Deluded fuckwits that think they have a divine right to play top flight football. They are the ONLY club I would be happy to see go bust and never be seen again. Thick yam yam bastards!

Those Dingles bring out the best in us. Love to see us take the pi$$ out of them. Between them and Birmingham City they are the two teams I love to see us turn over.

Ive been stabbed in the back in Whitmore Reans, same lads put a snooker que over my head. I know who they are too, living amongst them. I hate them, but have just lived with it. I understand the fury, just would want to say that I honestly think 99% of Wolves fans would want to say the same to you. I can see your hatred of anything Wolves, it just saddens me but now i understand.

I always remember the 4-2 win at the custard bowl in the championship. After the game it played up.
Anyone ever get escorted to the wagon & horses by the police and made to drink in the pubs cellar, proper rough hole that was.

I understand the fury, just would want to say that I honestly think 99% of Wolves fans would want to say the same to you. I can see your hatred of anything Wolves, it just saddens me but now i understand. Like I say it wasn't even a football related incident, it was in Portinax in Ibiza on a family holiday when I was 16, me and a girl walking back to our hotel got accosted by two blokes in their 20's asking for our watches and money, when I told them to fuck off one of them pulled a craft knife out of his back pocket , a scuffle ensued and as a result I was stabbed in the leg and his mate kicked me in the face and they ran off. Both were wearing Wolves tops and both had yam yam accents. The second me and a few rugby mates were in Barcelona when I was about 25 , sat in a bar watching the world go by when I noticed 6 Wolves fans walking on the opposite side of the road, this Swedish lad tried to walk around them and got slapped around the head and when he protested they proceeded to kick the shit of of him, obviously we ran across to help and they had it on their toes. The poor lad on the floor didn't have a fucking clue what had gone on, fortunately he'd had the where with all to cover his head with his arms. You shouldn't have to apologise for these twats, but this is where my hatred of Wolves stems from and I've not seen anything to change my mind through the years. I know not all fans are the same, but you can see why I react like I do. H

Couldn't believe that, in the media, their manager is after the club to spend £1,000,000 on loan players before the season ends!

I think there is a very good chance we will go down, our form is disastrous and we have won once on a saturday at Molineux since August 2011. Its not been much fun over those 16 months I can tell you. No doubt attendances will diminish next season, all things considering I think surprisingly our fans have been very good, 23500 yesterday, admittedly with 2600 Leeds. Moxey is even offering to waive the £6 booking fee if we renew potentially league one season tickets at a new cheapest early bird price of £345, nearly as cheap as your, Villa's or albions Premiership early birds. Deluded knob he is. He even said "I think I care more about WWFC than anyone else" last week. Oh well, shit happens - gotta keep the faith. Good post mate. Are Wolves fans generally aware of the parallels between Moxey's tenure at Stoke and Wolves? Sells star players to fund ground improvements and bring in vastly inferior replacements - check Appoints inexperienced manager who feels so lucky to get his big break he won't complain about having his hands tied behind his back - check Sacks that manager as the club sits disappointingly in the bottom half midway through the season - check Appoints an enthusiastic but even more inexperienced manager to try to turn things around with no money - check Plummet increasingly quickly towards the relegation zone - check Moxey has the recipe for chaos to a tee. For Chic Bates, read Stale Solbakken; for Steven Fletcher and Matt Jarvis, read Mike Sheron and Andy Griffin; for the Britannia Stadium, read Molineux; for Chris Kamara, read Dean Saunders. Interesting to see who Saunders will sign in the loan market as Wolves' answer to Tony Scully and O'Neill Donaldson.

Very, very true Onionman. What is it they say about a man who fails to learn from his mistakes??? Jez Moxey! What a twat! I met with him once, for about 3 hours, after he had called me in to see him following a letter I wrote complaining about the state of the club. He even showed me Mike Sheron's handwritten transfer request which turns out wasn't written by Mike Sheron!

You'd think he'd be smart enough to realise why things went wrong at Stoke around 97-99 and, having been lucky enough to start with a clean slate at a similar sized club, make damned sure he didn't repeat those mistakes. Either he's just too arrogant to think our downfall had anything to do with his own decision-making, or he's now feeling so much pressure he's reverted to type: appointing managers who haven't got the managerial credit in the bank to complain when he makes their job impossible. A cowardly approach doomed to failure. On top of all that, he's like a stereotype baddy from a teenagers soap opera isn't he. A rich developer determined to knock down The Diner in Home and Away in order to build an office block, maybe. From his slick but sickly physical appearance and smarmy voice, to his patronising attitude towards fans, as in your experience.

I'm from Stafford. Got a few Wolves supporting mates, who are fairly realistic, I also know a lot more who are total fuckwits. The town is essentially split between football GOING Stoke and Wolves fans with all the usual Manchester Utd and Liverpool tossers thrown in for good measure. Given the choice of talking footy with a Wolves lad, who actually has to watch that shit or a Manchester Utd supporter who goes up the pub, I would happily choose the Wolves, as a Stoke supporter, I have a certain empathy for their plight. As much as I'd love to gloat, being in the situation Wolves find themselves in, is still fresh enough in the memory and it could easily happen to Stoke again. I'll admire their superior brand of football in smug silence. I actually think Albion fans have become the smuggest contingent of Stafford based match going supporters these days but we've always been able to take the piss on that front anyway

Poor sod, living in Crewe to compound his misery!
For the most part, the Stafford thing is true, Wolves fans have and still do to a certain extent think they're fooking big time. I just think I'd rather talk or argue about football with another real football fan, which undoubtedly Wolves fans usually are.
As soon as anyone says they support Liverpool or Man Utd, my opinion of what they think they know about football diminishes massively!

Similarly .living in Stafford i know quite a few Wolves lads.some come to Stoke games with me because they enjoy the craic. I think a few were a bit giddy with themselves throughout their times above us ,now they seem to have learnt their station. i WOULD HAVE THEM ANYTIME OVER THE GLORY HUNTING SHIT FANS that fill the town. Where i work i would say its split between the 3 ,difference being 90% of the Stoke and Wolves fans go,i only know one of about 20 shit fans who goes regularly. Fucking wankers end of.

Talking of gloryhunters I had a great one played on me last night. My mrs invited her friend and partner over for tea last night. I've met him a couple of times amongst many other people and he is a decent enough bloke. It was the first time I ever really had the chance to speak to him properly and for a long period of time. All was going swimmingly. He's a keen golfer, liked Star Wars, had a little lad of his own and all was good. My little one then asked him if he liked football. "Not really" he responded. My little un then went on to say that his favourite team is Stoke, that he won the FA Cup yesterday, beating Man City in the final and then chanted "Ricardo Fuller is City's No.10" at him. To my complete and utter amazement this guy then said "Football isn't really my thing. I will watch it on TV if it is on and if I had to support anyone, I would support Manure". I nearly spit my drink out and all over him. All of a sudden, this decent enough guy turned into an absolute wanker! I can't stand Wolves and have always considered them to be our real local rivals, a rivalry made worse by the fact that I worked in Wolverhampton for 10 years. As said above though, 1 full-time Dingle is better than 100 glory hunting wankers who would all too willingly associate themselves with any team that is winning regularly.
