I'd actually stopped watching. Was it a decent finish? It was going in and Owen's dandruff diverted it by 0.0000003 nm into the net. Thats what Owen has always done and the reason he has scored 150 premier league goals.

Give him a run up front for christ sake and then judge him .natural goalscorer all his life and knob head brings him on to play in midfieid...... Haven't we been saying the same about Jerome though??? Only difference is Jerome has never been a natural goal scorer

I'm one of the very few fans who would like to see more of Owen because he's the only NATURAL finisher we have, deliver the ball and he'll finish still. Well done on the 150th goal.

Watched to game online it was Pure Football v Pub Team. Walters, Etherington and midfield not good enough by a mile; Crouch on his own totally frustrated. Adam; overwieght and was no where near! The game was screaming for Owen after 55 mins yet Pullis looks the other way! We needed to take the game to them!!!!
Why oh why do you lot defend this Manager..... Pullis is just a good defensive coach thats it!

I wonder what his goals per minute on the pitch ratio looks like now (for Stoke). Probably fairly decent.
Good lad, shame it wasn't in less bleak circumstances so he could have had a bit of a celebrate.

OK, I did some research myself, and I make that 63 Premier League minutes this season and one goal.
That's cracking, best get him starting!

It doesn't matter how much he got on it or not, it's his goal and well done to him.

Owen has probably got the best goal per minute ratio for us.

Owen is class, he will get at least 10 by the end of the season.

It reminded me of a consolation goal Mike Sheron scored in a defeat at home to Palace. It was his first goal for us after a terrible spell at Norwich. While the goal didn't mean much to us that day, it was what he needed to get his career back on track, and we reaped the benefits.
Unfortunately it also reminded me of a goal Chris Greenacre scored in similar circumstances away at Sheffield United.
Owen: Sheron or Greenacre?

Not at Stoke City he doesn't. He has one consolation goal under his belt. Maybe he'll be a Sheron for us, maybe he'll be a Greenacre, but whether he can boast a legacy based on his past achievements is irrelevant to Stoke now.

Has a bad day, lack of up front positive power gone to everyone's head because MO scores a glancing header. A fooking Hat Stand could have scored and it would not have hamstrings like Haribo Laces
Please get this: He Is Crocked... Build a team around him FFS.. Rather build a team around some Fooking Bone China.
When the goal went in there was not a ripple from our support and correct, no celebration on the pitch. Could be the players respect for lack of effort but strange for MO first goal and landmark goal.
Why did he also not warm up with other subs but played short passing with first team.

Unfortunately the thing that most sticks out about Owen today is not his goal but the fact that in a game where we were 1-0, 2-0 then 3-0 down, Pulis didn't deem him worthy of a place on the pitch until the 89th minute. I actually laughed out loud when I saw him on the touchline.
This is not some kind of new dawn for Owen in our team I'm afraid. He was signed for his name and personally I think Pulis has quickly realised he has nothing to offer. On the rare occasions we'll see him as a sub, it will be either on the halfway line chasing shadows or so late in the game that it will already be over one way or the other.
Forget about him.

Good on him! Glad he's got a Stoke goal! He should be given more time on the pitch.

'Owen Scores' should be used very loosely...the very slightest of touches...nothing to write home about... "typical Owen - in the right place at the right time" Replay shows more than the slightest of touches - makes it look easy - still a top class player. 150 Premiership goals great achievement

if you are going to play him he has to be the furthest forward and will need support , no point in the ridiculous one up front approach that yields so few decent chances

Working on the Jerome precedent, after scoring from the bench Owen probably won't be in next weeks squad now.

Right place at the right time. Remember the United game? Another corner whipped in, would've scored a clever goal if not for a brilliant De Gea save. He'd be able score a few from set pieces if he played more. Whether he can do it in open play remains to be answered .

If he's declared fit he has to play up top beyond the target man.
He is a goal machine and his clever positioning for that goal was typical Micky Owen but we all know braindead won't play him until we are 2/3 down and if he starts him expect to see him in midfield.

'Owen Scores' should be used very loosely...the very slightest of touches...nothing to write home about... and without that touch it wouldn't have been a goal....soooooooooo, your point is what exactly? jesus, i've slagged off our decision to buy Owen more than most on here and still see him as a waste of a wage and a squad space but please let's not start just making shit up just so they can fit into your own agenda regardless as to whether or not it's actually true or not,it's pathetic!!!! well taken header to be fair (especially when you see the final replay of it) i may not be the biggest fan of this signing but credit where credit's true....well taken goal and to get 150 Premiership goals is an incredible achievement to be fair to him
