If he went (which I very much doubt) wouldn't it be on a loan? Why would it be on loan? I guess because in his current state you'd have to be mental to pay any money for him?

I guess because in his current state you'd have to be mental to pay any money for him? True, but we'd be mental to let anyone find out quite how bad a state he is in. We need a permanent sale, no money back, no guarantees, no income tax, no VAT (the last two in particular if we are to deal with 'Arry)

As it stands it's hard to see why anyone would pay us a penny for him.

Palacios is a top bloke I'd hate to see him go, but he was meant to be what N'zonzi is now; it didn't work out. It would be good to see him go to QPR, I just hope it works out for him.

I can see it happening for around 2m or something equal to that amount in a P/X.

If we were Swansea I'd want him. Good player but really not suited for TP.

If Arry really is trying to buy Palacios but sell Faurlin then he's a fucking idiot plain & simple.

GET RID

The team wouldn't be any weaker for losing Palacios and we'd be about 40 grand a week better off. Get rid, probably the worst signing in our history.

Redknapp is giving a press conference in the next few minutes by the looks of it - so it'll be interesting to see if it gets a mention
"Well, I like the kid. He's a triffic player" etc etc!

Shit. It was all just Wilson's Dad talking up his kid then. Let's hope these Mexicans firm up their interest.

Has to rank as our biggest transfer fuck up since promotion.
A major gamble which has failed spectacularly.
Depressing for us and him I guess.

There's got to be a way to move him on.
But who's going to want his exorbitant £2m annual salary when his physical condition seems so poor?
QPR would have been great for us - but we might have known Arry isn't that daft.
Let's hope this Mexican rumour has some substance, although nothing seems to be developing there.
If Papa Palacios is right that he wants games, that's got to be good news for us, but is he keen enough for games to put up with a huge wage drop?
Maybe the best we're going to do is an initial loan somewhere?

QPR boss Harry Redknapp has insisted he will not be buying Stoke’s former Tottenham midfielder Wilson Palacios. The Honduran, who played under Redknapp at Spurs, is one of a host of players Rangers have been approached about signing. Talks took place with Palacios’ representatives and his father has been quoted as saying his son is set to join Redknapp at Loftus Road. But Redknapp, who hopes to prise Mohamed Diame from West Ham and also wants Tottenham’s Jake Livermore, says he will not be making an offer to Stoke manager Tony Pulis. “I had Wilson at Tottenham. If I wanted to I could speak to Tony about him, but no,” he said. www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/boss-redknapp-rules-out-palacios-signing

Gaznandi, the question is... is ANY OTHER club than QPR interested in Palacios? Or will he stay at Stoke?

Oh that's just brilliant...does that make Palacios the only frigging player Redknapp's not interested in?! Can not blame him though. He knew what he was doing when he sold him to us. Even Wilson's mum couldnt make Arry play him, even when she berated him Done up like a kipper on that one. However, on the plus side, owd Arry looks like he may hae lost hi s mojo- Arry seems to be chasing players of other Prem clubs - so far Diame, Livermore, Odemwingie, Olsson and so far seems to be recieving a two fingered response

The team wouldn't be any weaker for losing Palacios and we'd be about 40 grand a week better off. Get rid, probably the worst signing in our history. This sums it up perfectly for me. Sometimes you just have to accept that something hasn't worked out and, to be realistic, looks unlikely to ever work out, no matter how much you had wanted/expected it to. This is one of those cases. If we can sell WP to recoup some of the large amount we paid for him then we should, and as soon as possible, but unfortunately we have no glowing record of his great achievements whilst at the Brit to publicise and tempt prospective buyers. His fitness was very iffy right from the start with us, and for that reason TBH I always thought 'Arry had stitched us up good and proper on the double transfer because he knew how much Tone wanted Crouchy at the time. So far WP has completed something like 18 months of a four-year contract with us, during which time he hasn't figured all that much. Of course it would be a real sickener if he left us and then found brilliant form elsewhere, but there's no guarantee of this and so we should surely let him go ASAP whether we can get much for him or not? As things are, we are still paying him a big wage which is basically the club paying out big money week-in, week-out, for nothing in return, this being on top of the rumoured £6M we paid to sign him. All in all, a big - and currently ongoing - financial loss, and so in all reality we should offload him now, anywhere we can. I'm sure we would nevertheless all wish him well for the future.
