Regardless of how things have gone today, Walters should not be our penalty taker. He has missed a few now - I suspect his conversion rate is about 50/50

Well, I'm glad I stayed up for that We have had some luck, along the way to our 50-weeks at home unbeaten; so I guess you could say the manner of its ending was fitting. Playing with 10-men, Charlie a passenger again, hasn't helped; but I don't think we did too much wrong (nor sadly nothing right either), to have lost by 4 Hey-ho, roll on Palarse Nite Stokies

We need to change our dynamic. Nzonzi needs to be driving forward into the danger areas. We might then begin to look like a football team... Still need major surgery on the attacking side of our team. Walters is OK in the hole, but absolute shit on the wing. In the long-run I think we need a more dynamic and skillful player in that role. Kightly and Etherington would struggle to get in most Championship teams and need replacing ASAP.

Agree about Walters and Its time for Ethers to move on, Think Kightly is good enough for rotation and he could improve as he is only 26.

I wouldn't mind Kightly staying as 3rd or 4th choice winger. But he doesn't have the quality to be a regular player for us.

Walters should have taken that pen with his head, after all, he had already scored 2 with it.

When Wilson is fit again I would like to see Cameron in midfield, Adam and whelan were awful today

When Wilson is fit again I would like to see Cameron in midfield, Adam and whelan were awful today I agree - Cameron and N'Zonzi looks to have potential. Or even (and we should try this) Cameron alongside Charlie Adam as the defensive pairing. If we are to keep Adam then we have to find another position for him than in the hole and Cameron looks an obvious partner for him if he is moved back to a deeper position. I'd be happy to see N'Zonzi given a run out in a more attacking position. He looks to be far more mobile than Adam and is less prone to the Hollywood pass - usually going for a better, safer, option.

What a bizarre result - looks like we got a hammering but -we didnt
if only we'd have cleared the ball -the three opportunities we had before they scored -we'd have gone in HT nil nil - what then ?
I thought we were the better side first half and for a quarter of an hour in the second
Yes, Chelsea are a much better team than we are - but, to lose the home record that way
suppose you could say 'classic Stoke City' -but rather than moan or, leave early (as many 'premieristas' did - hang you heads in shame - fucking part timers !)
I took lots of positives from the game - Thought Begovic, Camerom Huth , Shawcross, Adam, Nzonzi, and Ethers all played really well as did Wilko -even though his obvious limitations were exposed also.
Thirteen league games left - seven at home - plenty winnable , we need another four wins to be safe and a top half finish remains on the cards
improvement remains incremental = that game - a freak result - move on
my thoughts
