well i've looked at comments both here and on our boards and laughed at some ,and raged at others, i didnt hear the 606 comments as a refuse to listen to that gyppo savage. my take for what its worth, i thought TP set up to try and "bully/intimidate" our kids especially the defenders and fair play i dont blame him however i think you'll agree our kids stood up to your lot and did quite well in that aspect of the game, we did try and create more than you did but with Benteke isolated up front we didnt get far, what let us down big time was the lack of forward runs from our midfielders to support Benteke, lambo then changed it for the last 15 mins or so by bringing on Ireland and Bent, i can see what he was trying to do [win the game] but all it did was upset the balance of the side and we were at our least effective in those last 15 mins, the Shotton sending off can only be described in one word, well 2 FUCKING JOKE ! i also thought on occasions we got away with a few, shall we say naughty challenges ,clark and baker seem to have the ability to commit fouls and get the free kicks in their favour Crouchy came on and some villa booed him, well we've all got our wankers aint we, never had the best of times at Villa but never gave less than 100% for that alone he did not deserve to be booed ! all in all a safety first display from both teams, not pretty but to be honest i think both sides would of settled for a point at the start, i suppose the best way to sum it up is there are 30,000 of us who will never get that 2 hours of our lives back

That's quite fair, which is a nice change from an opposition supporter. ;D

Do you think your lack of bite when Bent came on justifies Lambert's decision to leave him out?

Do you think your lack of bite when Bent came on justifies Lambert's decision to leave him out? yesmate i do, he is dynamite in the 6 yd box,but everywhere else he is total dogshit and we, as i said on another thread, aint good enough to "carry" a luxury like him

If you sell Bent will Lambert get the money to re-invest in the squad??

If you sell Bent will Lambert get the money to re-invest in the squad?? very debatable, i think it depends if we are in the bottom 3, i'm convinced Lerner is looking to sell next summer and he wont want a championship side to get rid of,so if we're in trouble in jan yes he'll release funds from any sales, if we are mid table no chance

Sadly our manager paid your team too much respect and went for an ultra cautious approach Your team much improved on the end of last season at Villa Park - for us, one of our worst performances this season

A fair review, thanks for posting I suspect Our Tone is a little bit happier than Lambert, but not by much. I thought Gabby looked good for you (miles better than Bent in his cameo). And a couple of your other kiddies look decent too. But you are right, you need to find a Ricardo Fuller to go with your Mama (Benteke). As for Bent, didn't appear to want to be at your place; if you can use the cash on the team then you may as well sell. Someone will pay a shed-load for him (again). First time I watch your lot this season and tbh, I was surprised how well you played. If you can keep those kiddies, future's bright

McLeish's line up which got the point required to keep us up v spurs Given; Hutton (Collins 52), Dunne, Cuellar, Lichaj; N'Zogbia, Herd, Clark, Warnock; Ireland; Heskey (Weimann 52, Delfouneso 70). Unused subs: Guzan, Bannan, Gardner, Carruthers yesterdays line up Guzan; Herd, Clark, Baker; Lowton, Westwood, Holman (Ireland 66), Bannan (Delph 78), Lichaj; Agbonlahor (Bent 66); Benteke. Unused subs: Given, El Ahmadi, Weimann, Williams. only 3 who started yesterday did so v spurs and those 3 are Clark,Herd and Lichaj aged 23,23 and 24 i think that says it all about the way lambo is trying to go if we get though this season which is gonna be a hard slog these lads he's blooding now will be all the better for it next season if you add the likes of Lowton,Stevens,Baker and Westward to the 3 mentioned i think we have much to look forward to in the future

My Villa supporting friend texted me to say that he and his fellow supporters were reduced to laughter by the performance of the ref who gave them everything, even when it was obvious the decision should have gone Stoke's way.
Not that he is complaining as they normally get the rough end of ref's decisions.

he really was poor, even if we got the rub of the green There are times when fans complain because the odd decision here and there goes against them (or a la Arsenal who seem to think that anything should result in their free kick) but yesterday was one of the most biased performances by a ref that I'd ever seen. Who was it by the way? I didnt recognise him as one of the regulars. Talking about refs, Lee Probert is a full on hunchback!

I didn't think he was biased. He was simply wank.
He gave strange decisions for and against both sides and was totally incompetent.
