For a couple of seasons Vale have been pretty decent at that level, the points reduction hit them hard last season else i think they would have been in the play-offs at least. This season i honestly think they'll get promotion. They've a good manager and they have good players at that level. Watching League 2 football is strange though as i'm so used to watching Premier League, Championship, La Liga, Serie A and Bundesliga. I always watch 'The Football League Show' but you can't really get a good grasp of what the quality of a full match is like on a highlights programme. It's kinda like watching a decent Sunday League match but with bad floodlights

Performance was good, but oh dear Oxford United. I can see John going back to the club tomorrow and saying to Tony keep an eye on Vincent and Williams.

I hope not, I've got 3-0 Vale & Pope at 55/1 and Pope to score first at 4/1... Could be a long 25 minutes or so for you, Luke! It certainly was! ;D Nice little earner to start the week off. Pity it had to come courtesy of the Vale!

That was really good, if they keep the managers and players they're in League 1 next year.
Kit looks good too, looks like thir mid-90s ones.

When was the last time we played them ?? 2001/02 season? They beat us at The Brit and we drew there if memory serves.

Good luck to Tomas Popinho and crew. I'd rather see us and the Vile doing well than Manure and their very fortunately bought out neighbors.

Is it a fancy dress night. Why are so many fail fans dressed as yellow seats?

A Vale mate came down our to watch it because he's not got Sky. Those last two goals were very well taken and Vale were impressive. I was quite enjoying it until 'we hate Stoke' rang round the ground, then I changed channels and kicked him out.

Was at the game tonight, guest of someone I do contract work for. Both sides were pretty poor until the first goal but once Vale realised that lumping it to a packed midfield didn't work and that the full backs were there for the taking, the wingers ripped them to shreds and the final score flattered Oxford. Saw Rudgey in the Director's Box. Do wonder whether he would be tempted back there to be the man upstairs for the new owner (who apparently knows nothing about football (insert joke here ) The Vale fans I spoke to would mostly be glad to have him around the place again. Wonder if they'd swap him for Myrie-Williams, who was MoM for me and maybe worth a proper look. As for Pope, 13 goals by mid-October is impressive at any level.

The most impressive aspect of the Vale was the lack of fear the wingers held. They weren't scared of running at the full backs. A fear that seems to have crept in our wingers games. Although Ethers looked a damn sight better against Swansea than he has done for a long time.

After his Swansea performance he deserves to start tbf.

If Myrie-Williams, Pope and Adams stay fit and don't leave then I cannot see Vale not getting promotion. Vincent and others would be difficult to replace if they were struck down with injury but with a new owner in place then I reckon Adams could find a competent replacement as cover. JMW is far too good a player for League Two whilst Pope is showing why Ronnie Moore spent £150,000 on him.

Vale have a very good manager who is capable of building a squad able to be promoted on merit. Whether they will miss out due to a points deduction is something else.
