Blimey, how many seasons have people been castigating 'The Cage' and its limiting affect on our midfielders,(their ability to support the forwards) and subsequent attacking play? Now we have an attacking midfielder with an acknowledged ability to shoot from distance and we feel he's playing too near to the forwards and should be dropping a lot deeper to be closer to the centre halves! ;D
The only real problem with Adam is that his questionable stamina is preventing him from getting sufficient game time to develop a decent understanding with the players around him, imho.

First and foremost, today was about getting a win any way and we did so objective achieved well done to all. Having said that i can't help thinking that TP still refuses to play people in their best position, last year it was his experiment with Huth as a right back this season it seems to be Adam in a role i just dont get , he is the player who picks the ball up from the defence and starts moves, not a support striker / attacking midfielder. At Wigan he came on and took charge of the midfield brilliantly since then he has not been allowed to , I just dont get it sorry It seems so hard to get to a point where we get the best players in the best positions with TP Agree 100% - top player starting off moves (in a quarter-back kind of way). Time on the ball to pick a pass. Just of Crouch, he just doesn't have the time in my opinion.

He needs to play in a midfield three, or try him alongside N'Zonzi if we're playing 4-4-1-1.

He's open to criticism because he tries things our other players don't do, shooting from outside the box and long passes, it's great to have a mixture of different type of players in the side. Would like that Xi from Swansea as a midfielder that will go past players, then we'd have a great mix.

Thanks a good debate interesting how views differ, i accept he needs to be fitter but still prefer the role he played at Wigan to the more advanced one

A lot of his stuff is very low percentage but that is what offensive play often is. That said I thought he improved when he kept it simple yesterday and he started to make us tick at times.

Encourages others around him to pass. Short simple possession and for that well worth having in the team.
