Some tasty touches from charlie so far. We need to play like scotland are with him and let him dominate everything. Thats how he was at blackpool too and was fantastic there.

Excited to see Charlie playing at home for us, I have to say after being a tad depressed after Swindon I am more than up for the rest of the season.

Its a bit tasty, i'll be surprised if both sides finish with eleven men. Ivanovic was bad mouthing the Scots before the game. Hope he's first to walk.

As good as adam looks he looks nowhere near fit enough. Been blowing out his arse since 35 mins against the 3 men serbia average midfield, let alone again man citys. If this was palacios for stoke everyone would be gunning for blood. We will see what the second half brings

Did he just sit on the bench during their pre-season games?

Didn't watch the game, but the Jocks are giving him a right slating on twitter. Dunno if it's due to some Old Firm bias with the Rangers fans hating him because he's done surprisingly well after he left them and the Celtic fans hating him becuase he was ex-Rangers? Or that he was just objectively...er... plain old shite! But he doesn't seem Mr Popular. twitter.com/#!/search/realtime/charlie%20adam

He was nowhere near as bad as they are making out. Wasted a couple of set pieces and held onto the ball a bit longer than he should have done on a couple of occassions, but apart from that was quite solid. Believe it or not, his most impressive work came from a number of interceptions he made. Shite game to watch overall though. Speaking of shite, i'm so glad we didn't sign Alan Hutton ;D

I watched the entire game and he was the only scottish player with a clue on the football, he's never been the most mobile but he took every set piece and most were excellent deliveries that our players would have made the most of.
He was definately tired at the end though.

He was definately tired at the end though. Yeah that's probably a fair assessment mate. I may have been a little harsh with the holding onto the ball for too long, because as you say the rest of his teammates were shite. There was one moment in the first half where he tried to play a ball for the left back (Dixon?) to run onto but he didn't read it, and it ended up making it look like a bad pass. The set pieces as you say were (on the whole) very inviting. I think what may have stuck in the fans minds was the one in the last few minutes when he failed to beat the first man with a free kick. Got themselves all hyped up for a winner so Charlie took the brunt of their frustrations. Adam certainly seems a bit of a scapegoat looking at those twitter comments doesnt he. I wonder if Kenny Miller and Alan Hutton get the same sort of treatment, as they were fucking dreadful. Snodgrass looks a good un in fairness though

I saw the first 30 mins and he was at the centre of all Scotlands attacking and did his fair share of ball winning.
Genuinely excited about seeing him for us. Really liked Kav and I think Adam is very like him but hopefully an upgrade!

Or that he was just objectively...er... plain old shite! But he doesn't seem Mr Popular. twitter.com/#!/search/realtime/charlie%20adam Charlie Adam is disliked by both celtic and rangers fans. in fact, i was walking near my office in glasgow town centre and having a conversation about charlie adam (this was several weeks ago before we signed him) and some bloke overheard us, swore at us and spat on the pavement, then he was muttering to himself about charlie adam! his brother got done for shouting sectarian/anti celtic abuse outside a nightclub in town several months ago. celtic fans have always hated him. my rangers supporting mates tell me that when he was there he always got a raw deal. he was singled out by rangers fans and very underrated by them. they compare him to maurice edu in this regard and suggest that rangers fans always need a whipping boy in the squad. many of them are indeed a bit aggrieved about how well he did after he left. Adam himself has made a few comments in the press about Rangers in recent months which show very little sympathy for Rangers plight. He's therefore more unpopular than ever with them. Nothing he does will ever be good enough for old firm fans and they will always be harsh critics. The fact is that he played very well and is surrounded by several bang average players in the scotland team. Kenny Miller being one of them. i was impressed with him today
