Sentinel says we "remain interested but he can sign at any time until 5pm on Tuesday, when the squads are submitted to the Premier League"
Is that true, or can he sign after that if we just submit 24 names?

My mate text that this morning, if you haven't filled your squad there's no reason why you can't sign an unattached player at anytime as far as I'm aware.

You are not allowed to leave an empty space in your squad if you have 25 senior pro's so with all the midfielders we are gathering we need to sign Owen before we submit 25man squadl

Sunderland want him too, according to the mail www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2196603/Sunderland-rival-Stoke-Michael-Owen.htmlSunderland are offering late competition to Stoke in the chase to sign Michael Owen.
The 32-year-old can sign outside of the window as a free agent and revealed on his Twitter account that he had been the subject of interest from two major European clubs but his preference is to stay in the Premier LeagueYou would think that Geography still makes us favorites though wouldn't you?

Owen is probably haggling for at least 50k per week! Eventually he will realise that he isnt good enough to warrant that salary and lower his salary demands

With Owen's passion for thoroughbred's, I would have thought he would relish a role at Pulis's donkey sanctuary.

I imagine the Owen deal is ready to be signed, they won't still be haggling over terms. Pulis will have made Owen aware that he is unable to be signed until one of our strikers left, he would have signed yesterday if we had been able to get rid of Jerome or Jones. Fortunately we have a few more days, after that I imagine Owen will have to look elsewhere.

I'd personally be surprised if we are interested. Fletcher there, Saha the experienced cover, Campbell still here to throw on from the bench, Wickham the young option. Got all the bases covered really.

In midweel it was: Larsson Cattermole
Johnson Sessegnon McClean
Fletcher Would be very difficult to see where Owen could fit into that.

Can't double-mark them all. We'll need some serious luck with injuries though as, aside from central midfield (Vaughan and Colback) and up front (Saha), there isn't much depth to the squad. Would have bloody loved Kightly at the price you pay for him. Quality for pennies.

It looks tasty going forwards. Looks like they will get the odd arse raping defensively though. Cattermole will have to do a lot of work and tackling and we all know how that ends

You can get away with Larsson in central midfield against Morecambe. Not sure if you can in the Prem though. Mind, our best midfielder by far is Jack Colback and now Rose is in he won't have to cover left back anymore, so expecting him to be the regular partner for Cattermole. I am cautiously optimistic, but this is Sunderland so we'll probably go down. ;D
