is it bad that i am getting excited about Cameron?
"A superb ball from Cameron with the outside of his boot to free Kightly, he lays it back to the American who see's a strike blocked on the 18-yard box."

Uh-Oh... No Palacios

No Palacios? With Spinks hinting at Whelan and Whitehead starting v Reading after such an encouraging pre-season for WP, I'm really starting to wonder if Palacios was really behind the apparent Valencia interest as Nixon implied. Can't see Pulis liking that if true, bugger.

Still hoping for a Palacios cameo, just to put my mind at ease

Whitehead on for Whelan... wow... What is the point that you're making haha That these friendlies keep getting more and more underwhelming. Hope it's not an example of this season's substitution-tactics to come

Anyone know what's wrong with Palacios? I thought he's been looking good in pre-season so far?
And no jokes about the wind please.

Hope it's not an example of this season's substitution-tactics to come I don't think you can ever read into the substitutions made in a friendly match. I think as a previous poster stated, Tony is giving both players one last chance to earn a place in the starting line up v Reading

"Palacios replaces Upson whilst Wilkinson is taken off with Jerome his replacement. Geoff Cameron drops back in to the heart of the backline alongside Shawcross, with Palacios taking Cameron's place in midfield. Jerome and Crouch are up top with Walters on the right flank." Good move

He's only just got himself fit I completely ignored the thread about Palacios to Valencia just assuming it would be total bollocks. Please tell me I was right? Palacios agent has allegedly been pimping his name about. Alan Nixon the journo suggests that it's just bluster from his agent. Can't see Pulis being too happy if there's any substance in it. Just hope he doesn't hold his usual grudge over it

I would pretty pissed off it that were true. A fully fit WP is one of the main reasons I'm staying optimistic about next season.

Good move It would be if the Crouch-Jerome partnership was ever given a proper chance.

Kightly's work is done for the night in the 75th minute as he is replaced by Delap. A very impressive showinf from the new boy. Very impressive outting capped with a very well taken goal
At least that's one positive from tonight
