Most black people are proud to be black Stafford. What does that comment prove in the context of this discussion?
If you were chatting and said something along the lines of "my good mate Billy is a black lad" or "my best mate is black" or something along those lines that basically referred to the colour of a persons skin, then there is no problem.
Whilst your mate would rightly rather be considered to be black than shaded, I am sure your mate would react totally differently to being called a "black cunt", "black bastard" or "black monkey".
The context in which the words are used is what matters when ascertaining whether something is an innocent comment or racist slur.
In JT's case and in Suarez's case, both are/were guilty of racist abuse or whatever the appropriate legal terminology is and both should be punished in a football context.
EDIT - For example, my grandad was black and came to the UK from Burma after the war, having fought in/for the British army. He is from Scottish ancestory. Describing my grandad with the use of the word "black" is not in any way shape or form, racist.

The people on here (and in all walks of life) who appear not to be able to understand what is and what is not racist, are they thick or just argumentative? It appears they have to be one or the other.
