Visited Fitzgerald's Irish Pub in New York last week, armed with the new away top, signed and ready to present them with it. There was a notice in the pub to say it was the Stoke City Supporters Club and a few very old photos (George Berry etc). When we said we were from Stoke there wasn't a flicker of recognition. When we ordered something to eat we asked about Stoke City. The waiter told us that the pub had changed ownership and the man who ran the supporters club had gone.
It took us ages to get to Fitzgerald's as it was a long way from our hotel and we were all looking forward to meeting everyone. We were all disappointed and needless to say we did not waste the top on them.
Just wanted to let everyone know that if visiting New York don't make the effort and go to Fitzgerald's, it really is a waste of time. ???

Thats a shame, the Stokie wasn't there when we visited but Kev the barman looked after us and rung him to come back to see us as well as watching us play Everton

A real shame - was there for the cup semi final against bolton - was great atmosphere and drunken dancing in the streets of NYC on sunday afternoon - think of the scene out of fame x10 glasses of lager

I live in NYC and have been to Fitzgerald's many times. Not the swankiest joint, but was close to work so caught some of those 2:45 PM (NYC time) weekday cup games there. I understand the Stoke bar is now Churchill's on east 28th street, at least that is what my Everton friend told me, and he said it was a lot nicer joint. ' Been travelling a bit, so have not checked that out being there have been no games, but will stop in next week as I am curious myself.
Ughh, drew Ukraine in my $100 work Euro lottery pool.

Is there a wooden spoon prize for the worst-performing team? Always a good idea to include one to keep things interesting for the 70% of people that don't draw one of the top seeds.

Popped in on a couple of previous visits as we were nearby in Murray Hill, but did'nt see any Stoke fans in there. The last time there was a bloke in who used to live in Baddeley Green who we shared a pint with.
We're off over again at Christmas but won't bother going in, if the match is on while we're there I'll head to the Red Lion.

Going to New York for the first time in Feb next year. Was going to make a visit, especially if theres a game whilst i'm there. Probably won't bother now which is a shame, but i suppose the girlfriend will be pleased!
