This is being played in a 70,000-seater stadium? What are we looking at...maybe 10,000 there tonight? And are they going to be playing their reserves having played a league game last night? Maybe resting their stars like Ant Junior and JOC?

uslnation.com/index.aspx?fid=96&eid=7/28 Stoke City @ Orla Inchy on the sidelines ... Jamie O'Connor vs Glen Whelan, hopefully little Ant will be back for Orlando against his papa's team. 12:30am kick-off so good night out and then home for the footy .... I've watched Orlando quite a bit as most USL games are free to watch ... they're easily the best of a poor bunch and they're going for an MLS place in the next couple of years. Great move from Austin to Orlando, good supporters and a decent team ... John Rooney (Wayne's brother) is also there, as is Luke Boden (ex Sheff Weds, same as James). Great to listen to rubbish commentators who don't spout on about their past deeds and no mention of Chelski, Arseholes or Livercrap along the way .... enjoy ! ... just to remind you - kick off is at 00:30, which is 30 minutes after midnight ....

twitter.com/OCMatchDayLiveStoke: Sorensen, Shotton, Wilson, Huth, Shawcross, Ness, Whelan, Palacios, Etherington, Crouch, Walters. Orlando: Gallardo, Mechack, Bernard, Boden, Valentino, Mbengue, O'Connor, Molino, Alexandre, Lopez, Chin.Nessy right wing? Or Ness left and Ethers right? And no Ant Jr. Surely a walkover now?!

I would have thought it would be the latter FM. TP seems to like Ethers on the right on occasion. Of the Orlando lot, Gallardo is meant to be a very good 'keeper. Mbengue is an 18 year old Senegalese midfielder who has just been promoted from their development squad. If he's 6 foot+ and does well against what are the chances we'll see him again? Kieron Bernard is a Jamaican centre back who's actually had a trial with us after the Aztex were here when ever that was. And O'Connor is some little Irish fella, don't know much about him!

Speculative conclusions
1. He is going to persist with the Crouch/Walters partnership (even though the definition of partnership is meant to incorporate working together)
2. Still seriously thinks Shotton could make a right back
3. Cannot contemplate a team without a long throw
4. Big effort to get Palacios 'match fit'
5. Ness being sussed out as a possible replacement for Pennant
6. No chance of Whelan leaving
7. Wilson will never, ever play in midfield for Stoke so forget it now!
Any others?

Bit annoyed because it doesn't seem like you can bet on this game on Bet365. Unless I'm a blind twat.

shame Cuvelier wasn't taken, would have liked to have seen him get a bit of pre-season and friendly game time...never mind
Walters is starting to grate on me a bit, 'works 'ard' and thats about it. Crouch's first touch last game looked pretty spot on...judging from only the first half mind you...

Wahey. Another dose of top-quality Americanisms hopefully. I've decided to try and restrict my Oatcake activity to matches only this season. Saves me having to read pages and pages of spurious arguments and more importantly I won't feel obliged get involved myself. And I might, y'know, get some fresh air, do some exercise and stuff.
THROUGH THE FACE!
