Yes. Happy...promotion in 2008 Sad...World Cup quarter final 1986 Happy...Cardiff in the play offs Sad... The shit scoiring a late equaliser in 79/80 Happy... England v Spain Euro 1996 The lowest I've ever been despite not blarting was after Portugal knocked us out of the 2006 World Cup. I aren't a sun reader type who expects us win the World Cup or anything but I was devastated.

Shed a tear or two when I heard that John Ritchie had left us back in 2007.
He was my hero when I was young - a real Stoke legend
It hurt just a little bit more 'cos he passed away on 23 February (my birthday)

I cried after the first semi-final against Arsenal 1971 in the FA cup. In fact, I do not think there was a Stoke supporter/player that didn't shed a tear that day.
There have been other moments too............most recently when Chelsea scored 2 late, late goals against us in our first season in the Prem.

Never cried through sadness at Stoke, dunno why but sad things don't seem to make me cry. Plenty of tears of joy tho', last ones appearing when I first saw the massed ranks of Stokies inside Wembley for the Semi. The most amount of tears came after the play off final, they were literally streaming down my face and I didn't care, I knew our years in the wilderness were over.

Funnily enough I was talking to my children about this yesterday.
As a small boy I creid when my then favourite player, Calvin Palmer, was transferred to Sunderland. I cried at the end of the semi final replay at Villa park. Hillsborough was a different experience because we all thought, right up to the four (I think) minutes of additional time that we were on our way to Wembley. The replay was such a dispiriting experience. They had lost before they started the game and even though it was 2-0, it could have been any score in reality. I'm also of the generation, I will admit, that cried last year at Wembley when we sang Abide With Me.
Other than that, although I no longer cry at football matches (maybe I've achieved some degree of perspective) it still absolutely ruins my weekend when we put in one of our abject performances and I end up going to bed replaying the key moments over and over again, wishing I could go back and change things. If we put in one of our fantastic performances, rather than hiding in purdah, I read every newspaper, watch every football bulletin and really look forward to a bit of gloating over the Liverpool, Everton and Man City supporters in my team at work.
Non football lovers wouldn't get this obsession but I know it's why I love the game

This ^^^ Also Euro 96 SF, utterly utterly gutted after England played so well against Germany and even scored the first 5 pens. I was pretty cut up when Greenhoff was sold but I don't think I actually cried.

FA cup semi Abide with me at the final. Valencia away- Amazing city, camaraderie and banter with locals, hugging complete strangers, listening to people's stories of realizing a lifetime ambition of watching Stoke away in Europe, recollections of people cruelly denied the opportunity to see it themselves, sitting up amongst the gods on a balmy starry night,Stoke fans' behaviour incandescently lighting up a legendary venue, then thinking of my dad being slowly stolen away by alzheimers made me realize the precious, fragile, beautiful transitoriness of moments like that.Football as life support...poetry. Que lump in throat.

During Abide With Me during last year's Cup Final. Not helped by the fact that my mum had been diagnosed with motor neurone disease three days earlier. By chance, I stood alongside a young woman whose dad had died recently, so we both wept for Stoke, and our parents, and hugged each other. As a young lad at the time, the memory of both 71 and 72 is inextinguishable. Younger fans might not realise how huge the FA Cup was at that time, and we were so close to getting there on each of those occasions. Unbelievably painful and no experience has been as bad since.

I was crying when we got promoted to the prem against Leicester.A close friend of mine had passed away suddenly at the young age of 37 a couple of years earlier. He was a massive Stoke fan and travelled the country following them through all the shit times but always had a smile on his face.He was well known in Longton,Fenton and Heron Cross and he deserved to see us playing in the top flight...sadly it wasnt to be for him but Im sure hes looking down on our matches. RIP Shaun Flattley x

Couple of times when I was younger, once away at oldham when I was about 7-8, I think we lost and all the Oldham fans we're givin it the big un... First time I ever swore infront of my dad and got away with it hahaha. A couple of times losing to QPR I think it was and Gillingham on the big screen when we had 3 sent off?
