For best 2 seasons of my Stoke life long may it continue Can't argue with that if you missed the 70's.

I wonder what the moaning bastards will do with themselves until next season? More to the point I wonder how many of the moaning bastards renewed their season tickets? Thank you TP, Coates and all at the club. See you next season.

For best 2 seasons of my Stoke life long may it continue Can't argue with that if you missed the 70's. Typical old timer trying to make out the 70s were brilliant. Did you know in 1971/2 we averaged less goals per league game than this season? Check it out - it's true.

To a point. Next season we do need to adopt a plan 'B' and start to realise that there are points to be won away from home and not capitulating.

I'm an ageing 25 year old so can comment since 1990 when I first started going. This season hasn't been the best but it's far from the worst.
Fond memories of mentals at The Hawthorns, Carrow Road and when we equalised at Anfield. The wins in the cup at Gillingham, Derby and Crawley were fun.
Away trips to Thun, Istanbul and Valencia. Nuff said. Plus the visit of some teams from the continent with proper pedigree.
Our record singing scored a "worldy" and we've held some of the best on our own patch.
Glad it's over though, bring on the pre-season optimism.

I'm satisfied with this season, but the early 70's were brilliant onionman. Did you know in 1971/2 we reached the semi final of the FA Cup, won the League Cup (with 5 Stoke lads) (98,000 attendance), and the highest home gate was 43,000. Other highlights from these good old days include: Another FA Cup Semi final. Finishing 5th in the 1st Division. Dicking Arsenal 5-0. Having the best keeper ever "between the sticks".
Take away the seventies and there's not a great deal else to shout about?

Glad it's all over and a piss poor wimper to the end of the season has over shadowed another Stella season. With the extra commitment of the Europa league we could have quite easily ended up playing against bolton NEEDING a WIN to stay up.
