Ramsey's classless reaction to the accident deserves all of the contempt he is going to get from us over coming years. I was saying this exact thing to an Arsenal fan before. On paper us booing him has the same fuckheaded reasoning as Chelsea fans booing Anton Ferdinand, but there's more too it than that. Around the same time, Stuart Holden had his leg broken by Johnny Evans in a tackle far worse than the Shawcross one. He however brushed it off as "just one of those things" and didn't blame Evans. It's obviously horrible that Ramsey broke his leg and feared (albeit for about 6 months before he was back playing) that his career was over, but he didn't exactly cover himself in glory by not accepting Shawcross's apology for what it reality wasn't even REALLY a tackle, as such more a committed attempt to clear the ball. These things happen, and Ramsey (or more likely Wenger- Ramsey's response was likely dictated to him by the him) should have had the good grace to accept Ryan's attempts to diffuse the situation. It is perhaps a touch harsh to boo him, but I can see the reasoning behind it. It was up to Ramsey how he responded to Ryan's apology, he his chose his path and that's his prerogative. There was a way he could have dealt with the situation that would have guaranteed a warm welcome whenever he returned to Stoke, and it was the way that the overwhelming majority of players chose to deal with injuries.

It was his prerogative, I agree, but when have you ever known a player to dismiss an apology out of hand like this? His actions did little to diffuse the hostility between the two clubs. Accepting the apology with grace like Stuart Holden, or even if he wasn't ready immediately to accept Ryan's olive branch do so later like Ben Arfa did with Nigel De Jong: www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2062965/Hatem-Ben-Arfa-finally-forgives-Nigel-Jong-leg-breaker.html Instead the Stoke Arsenal beef will linger on for years and years.

oh padders. I despair.. These horrible stoke hooligans demonstrating their hostility towards a delightful young welsh-man who stood up (excuse the pun) for what WENGER wanted to world to believe.
He should have been man enough to accept Ryan's apology rather than demonising him. He went through the national press as though he was a rape victim.
you say you're disappointed by the responses.. I'm disappointed by your soft attitude and your inability to differentiate between booing a cunt and booing a victim. He would have had our sympathy and support had he not reacted in Arsenal fashion!
GRIP... get one.

I agree entirely, steventweed.
I wonder if Ramsey may have acted in a different way if the hysteria hadn't been whipped up by Wenger, Fabregas and the Arsenal fans disgruntled by the footballing world agreeing (before the re-written history) that it was an accident. We'll never know.

At the end of the day Ramsey is just a bad sportsman. His father was a far better sport . Good old Sir Alf .

Aaron Ramsey gave an interview to the match-day programme making it clear he blamed Stoke City's Ryan Shawcross for the tackle that fractured his tibia and fibula. "I don't believe he [Shawcross] wanted to break my leg," said Ramsey, "but I think he wanted to go through both the ball and me – to take me out and make sure I felt the tackle.
'He was caught out of position a little but he could definitely have changed his mind before making the tackle, realising that he wasn't going to get there and so not committing. If I was tackling and I saw that there wasn't a chance of getting to the ball cleanly, I wouldn't make the tackle – and I don't think there was a chance of him getting there."

Would you boo a suicide bomber? After all that's a life threatening injury? Ha Was Ramsey's fault he had his leg broken? Was it Ryan's? Fuck wenger and any of his cheating little disciples. I would have a little smile to myself if any of them cunts broke a leg.

Why? Fucking disgusting and anyone that did should be ashamed of themselves. I booed EVERY Arsehole player! Ramsey is not as important to me as he very obviously is to you. Why shouldn't he be booed? He tried to blacken the name of Shawcross, who was innocent of every charge aimed at him, and clearly proven by TV evidence and numerous comments by ex players.

Why? Fucking disgusting and anyone that did should be ashamed of themselves. Wind yer neck in. The Arsenal fans have given Ryan DOGS abuse since th incifent. Ramsey has since commented on the incident, even suggesting that it was deliberate. Why dont you go and sit next to the cockney mugs and have a pop at Ryan? I dont agree he should be booed but whats good for the goose is good for the gander. Ramsey could have acted with more dighnity but instead chose to condemn our captain fantastic. Seems you are too. Idiot. SGS

Why? Fucking disgusting and anyone that did should be ashamed of themselves. I don't think fans were booing him because shawcross got sent off. I think it's because he didn't respond to shawcross's apology in a positive way! It was an accident which shawcross didn't actually cause! If u watch it again, ramseys leg bent before they clashed! That's my opinion anyway
