Good post March - I pretty much agree with all of that analysis. So what's it down to? Luck? The way the wind is blowing? Or shite Management? Poor management.

Good, you're getting with the program. So what's going to happen? The manager doesn't know any other way so nothing will change. Everyone has a sell by date. IMO the manager is fast approaching his.

The manager's position isn't in any doubt and rightly so. Last season he gave us the second best in our history and this season is a top tenner as well. Perhaps we should start the Charlton debate again

Silverware makes any season an automatic winner. Even I can't see us winning silverware this season However, the unique European adventure and the FA Cup run makes this a season that will be remembered for decades.

March is right ...
(Of course) Tone's position isn't in any doubt.
He's got a tonnage of credit in the bank - actually probably an unlimited amount unless (or until) we are relegated.
That's not to say though that he's got a few things to sort out (for sure) and a few of those problems are certainly of his own making.

If pulis is still in charge come august i will have a monkey on us to go down next season as the football he has served up over the past four months is relegation dirge at best.

If it meant pulis going march i would be praying for relegation fella. Would you go through 23 years of Hell just because our football is predictable? TP can guarantee mid-table mediocrity and a reasonable cup run for season after season after season. Is that really so bad??

Here's another fact about the 2011/12 season...
FA cup pquater finalists.
Voyages into European football.
We will finish above Wolves, Wigan, Bolton, Blackburn, QPR, Villa, hopefully west brom and a couple of others!
Get a fucking grip and enjoy what is the most successfull period for SCFC for a long long time.
PS I went today and we were beyond wank, but well be there again next year.

We have the look of a side that could be in serious trouble next season. And we have a manager who can't grasp the fact that we are getting worse. The stats prove it. We had a golden opportunity to attract better players when we got into Europe, and Tone wasted it. It's time for a change of manager, BEFORE it gets even more dismal next season.

There is no doubt we have a lot of sorting out to do. Priorities for me
Two full backs who can play at this level and use the ball properly A midfield player who can create and shoot A partner for crouch who can score Competition for the wingers
I really don't get the need to keep Walters up front , ok he works hard so stick him wide , neither winger is playing well, today why did he stay up front and Jerome have to play wide, a role that does not suit him.
Your stats must be taken seriously and a decent chief scout found , as only Crouch has added anything to us out of the players signed last summer .
Hopefully these points will be made to TP when the club sits down , reviews this season and plans for next

As many of you know, I love stats. These stats have previously been posted by other members, or are from Sky, Opta, or stats looked at myself. The stats are only league stats Make of these stats what you like - We have scored the least number of goals in the Premier League - The least number in the whole of the Football League - We scored 46 goals in the league last year, we are currently on 32 with 5 games left. You can't win football matches unless you score goals. - We have scored 12 goals from open play all season - The least number of successful passes in the PL - The lowest possession in the PL - The lowest shot accuracy in the PL - We have managed only 84 shots on target all season (2.47 a game) - Jon Walters has scored 2 goals in 22 games ( 1 of them was a penalty) - We have failed to score in 13 games (1 in 2.61 games) - We spent £22 million in the summer - We finished with 46 points last season - We have scored 3 goals from open play since 1st January (one of them was Crouch's wonder goal against Man City) - The midfield was scored six goals between them - Robin Van Persie has scored more goals than the whole of the Stoke squad - We would be in the bottom 3 if the season started on 1st January - We have the 12th best defence in the league

Maybe The binary season get mentioned a lot on here and that is nearly 10 years ago I really enjoyed that season. Some of the best defending I have seen from a Stoke side in my lifetime. It is a season that should be revered for ever. I have never understood the scoring of pointless goals. One is enough.

That list of facts provides every reason to be unhappy, bored and concerned about what we're witnessing.
Not dislike of Pulis, being a PHW, etc, etc but cold, hard facts.
And when you think of the money spent it is truly appalling.
Maybe the club can recuperate some money by releasing a DVD featuring our goals from open play??

Reads stats.
Takes cock in hand and mumbles about cup final and Europe.
Ignores stats and tries not to think about the number of times anything about watching Stoke has been edge of the seat for the overwhelming majority of the season.
Looks at recdeipt for next seasons ticket and tries to dismiss thoughts of what it may bring without the distraction of Europe and the possibility of drawing a half decent side before the quater final stages of a cup competition.
Lapses into a forever greatful coma for the things only Tone could have provided.
