No surprise that they have begun to self-destruct spectacularly considering their tart quota is so high. When the going gets tough.... And they had the goalie who cried on the pitch the first time they came to the Brit. As Pugsley said, not exactly characters you'd want in the trenches with you. What a contrast with Stoke's players. Whereas someone like Dean Whitehead would go fearlessly charging across no man's land like a true dog of war, throwing his battle-scarred face in front of any German bullets coming in your direction, a character like van der Vaart would insist on hiding in the trench, perhaps, if he's feeling really brave, raising his hand above the parapet to wave an imaginary yellow card. Surprised to see they let Anders Brevik post on here between court appearances

Well, since his manager got earmarked for the England job his team has shown a complete lack of testicles and is fading badly. They had to scrape a draw off minnows like Stoke and on Sunday they were embrassed by conceding five at Wembley. Hardly surprising he wanted to walk off. Their season has gone down the dumper quickly.

This is why VDV's never made it properly at a top team and regularly gets subbed (see Sunday vs Chelsea) when the going gets tough. Complete flair player with no balls.

His mate Aaron Lennon did exactly that didn't he? Bunch of pampered poofters. No surprise that they have begun to self-destruct spectacularly considering their tart quota is so high. When the going gets tough.... Made me chuckle that did ;D

It's a compliment isn't it?...
First he says that its the hardest league in the world and then backs that up by using us as the reference.
Thanks VdV

It's typical big club mentality. I've seen loads of Citeh fans lauding Norwich as a "good footballing side" and saying things like "fuck off Pulis with your shit football". But what really bothers them is that we didn't roll over and die like Norwich did. You're supposed to turn up and be patted on the head while they put five or six past them. exactly

To be fair to Man Utd and Fergie they come here, give as good as they get, and never complain "win or draw!" Chelsea the same.
Guess that's the difference between champions and pretenders... ;D

Utd., but didn't AVB say we were a disgrace to football, and that he'd never seen anything like us after our home game with them?

This is great and is reflected in our performances against the top 6/7 this season.
Because they have to come to Stoke to win, they play more attacking, creative players, who can be bullied.
our problems, in terms of goalscoring and general performance levels at home this year, are that we are still trying to do this to everyone.
A lot of people on here are fond of saying "look how far we've come" but very few people are asking "what does the distance we've come mean, and what do we need to change, even to stay at the same level, let alone progress?"
It's no coincidence that the only team in the top 7 to come away from Stoke with a win are the only team which would have seen a draw as a good result.
We need to combine continuing to intimidate and out battle the big boys, with the ability to open up teams who come hoping to frustrate us, and out battle us, as Newcastle did.

Sadly, I think his comments were shared by most of their squad, they don't strike me as being gracious losers, (or in this instance, drawers).

He said there's too much pushing and shoving, but he meant about English football in general and it wasn't a dig at us (at least, that's how Pulis viewed it). I seem to remember him being fairly magnanimous in non-victory.

At gaining our first ever point from the shit whilst in the Premier League it had Sir fcuking Alex moaning his fcuking bag off regards Crouch how he's always fouling and always getting away with it.... They're all nice when they win....But shitty as fcuk when they dont get what they hoped for.... Fcuking ball bags the lot of e'm.

True but they made a similar mistake to Arsenal, they still try to attack, but combine that with filling their team full of their most lumbering forwards to add height, when we are clearly more threatened by pace. Unlike Chelsea, for whom Drogba is a genuine presence at the back, City went with Dzeko and in the past Arsenal have tried Bender and Chamakh, they're both tall but can't defend for shit so they lose the threat of pace and give themselves nothing to worry us in terms of height. Love it when the big teams do this, was rubbing my hands together when tevez started on the bench in the home game.

Agree If man City had started with Tevez & Aguero they would surely have caused a 1000x more problems than Balotelli or Dzeko did.

This is not the interview I was looking for and his comments are quite tame, but in this one he makes it quite clear that our style of play is not indicative of the Prem. League. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/14435069Sorry, I don't know how to put a link up. Edit: It seems that I do know how to put a link up. ;D
