For me it's got to be Matty Etherington. He's never looked the player he was last season, lots of niggles, injuries etc and then it takes him 3-4 games to get going again. Just hope he comes back fit and raring to go in August.
Another mention goes to Ryan. He's not really pushed on this season at all what with the England talk and all that. Don't get me wrong he's been solid enough but was expecting great things from him this season.

Could be an interesting thread...the herberts should be out in their numbers :X
The way we have played has been my biggest disappointment and our home form to the 'lesser' teams

The football. £25million spent and we have regressed.

I think Ryans done fine. The disappointment is maybe the lack of recognition from the national press.
For me, the biggest disappointment is as oasis says, the home games against QPR, WBA, Newcastle and Sunderland but the last 3 have had good seasons to be fair and we've done well against Man U, Man C, Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool.

Walters for me. Was pleasantly surprised last season by him. Proved me wrong whereas this season he has been the player I thought we had signed Sincerely believe that TP is keeping him in the team to further his euro chances

Yeah agreed, TP's team selections have been one of my biggest disappointments, as well as the biggest worry!
The fans are one for me too (NO OFFENCE INTENDED ;D). After a disappointing period we've had people calling for the managers head and slating the team when we should have been getting behind them. All in a time of arguably our most success on top of playing 50 games before the season has ended. We just don't seem to be as loud neither!

In terms of individual players, Palacios.
Overall, the failure to build on the stuff we were playing at the back end of last season despite spending another great wodge of cash.

Either Palacios, some of our performances (Bolton, Newcastle, QPR, WBA), Begovic (made at least 5-6 real howlers), JP or KJ.

Some of our results to lesser teams, both home and away.
4-0 at Bolton 5-0 at Sunderland The Wigan games QPR at home
We have dropped some terrible points when you look at it.

The Midfield....again
Whitehead, Whelan, Delap consistently poor Palacios consistently not on the pitch/or not fit
Walters consistently shite, though I never thought he was any good from the beginning

If I had to pick one player it would be Palacios, hope to god he comes good tho!! Agree with this I really though that he would be immense this year but he's never looked fit. However, he's shown glimpses of his quality and hopefully after a full pre-season he'll come good next year

The form of the wingers has been the biggest one for me - such an integral part to our play, they have been nowhere near the quality of last season.

Generally: The lack of attacking intent in open play we've shown at the Brit this season or the reprise of the Huth at right back experiment, having fully established it was a no-go last season.
Specifically: Learning of the squad we'd taken to Valencia just hours before flying out to watch the game.Utterly deflating.

Good thread: Palacios of course, considering the amount paid. Big disappointment.
However, number one disappointment is the lack of football played. Some games have been dire. Unfortunately, when visiting England this season, I chose to see the QPR and Wigan away games live.
Pulis's promises of: if we survive 3 seasons.........has not come about yet. Question is: will it next year?

Despite the league table indicating that we've had a good season, it hasn't really felt like it. Disappointments for me:-
1. Not building on last seasons form. At the tail end of 2010/11 we were playing fantastic stuff with everyone in their proper positions and a good mix of attributes in key positions. By August Pulis had predictably ballsed it up with needless tinkering.
2. Square pegs round holes. Same every year isn't it? Shotton on the wing, Woodgate and Huth at RB being this year's bizarre selections.
3. The form of the wingers. Pennant's had a mixed time of it when he's played but Etherington's ability has noticeably dipped.
4. Not so Super Jon. Another key man in last year's purple patch has been no better than average this campaign, but seems to be the only man in the team who doesn't have to earn his place.
5. Palacios- you can see the quality is there but he's let himself down with his fitness levels. Hopefully we'll get him sorted out in pre-season?
6.Tactical inflexibility. 4-4-1-1 has served us well, but it's not working with the players we've got available. Crouch is good enough to justify building the system around him- surely a traditional 4-4-2 with some pace up-front would work better? Why are we not trying it?
7. Ben Marshall. It's a shame to see a young lad whose excelled on loan being given no opportunity or hope that he'll get a chance at Stoke. Terribly short-sighted management.
8. TP's approach to the Valencia game. A once in a lifetime chance of glory and the manager is concentrating on Swansea at home. Disgusting.
9.The entertainment. I'm not that bothered as long as what we're doing is working, but at times it's felt like a chore watching us.
10. The 'Britannia' logo has fallen off my little girl's Stoke top. (I was struggling for a tenth ;D)

Consistency.................. I was hoping this year we could play, how I know we can, a lot more regularly. But for most of the time this season, its been a struggle to watch Keeping possession................. I think we need 2 top quality midfielders, who can pass to our players easily, and link the defence with the wingers and the forwards. 2 players who make themselves available for an easy pass and so keep possession a lot better. Lets make the opposition work hard for a change.................

Liverpool in the Cup. They were there for the taking for an historic win and another Wembley trip. We just didn't show up in the second half.
If Walters had scored that chance I'm convinced Queen Kenny's mob would have crumbled.
