On talksport spoke very positively about his team.
He said and we will never hear Tony Pulis say any of these things.
'Goals are everything in the premier, where you can turn a losing situation into draws and drawing situation's into crucial wins'.....
So we Play Jon walters.....i rest my case.
He goes on
'We have evolved as the season as gone along so we don't become predictable where the opposition know exactly what we are going to do so we have changed systems home and away'......
Like i say we have Jon Walters and Tony 'No Plan B' Pulis running the shop.
'our aim is to finish above chelsea and see where it takes us'
Tony Pulis would say Nahhhhhhhhhhhhh getting to 40 points and finish above Blackburn is a massive achievement for us.FACT.
'my coach john carva(spelt wrong?) is my man on the street who gives me feedback from the fans which is very important and we cant ignore them buts its important to hear what they think and who should play etc etc and who shouldn't and what they expect to see on a match-day,after all they pay the wages and its their club'
Tony has previously said many times that he does not care what the supporters think and he only answers to Peter Coates.
What a contrast in methods eh compared to our Mr Negative's.
And STILL we aint reached 40 points and STILL Walters starts every game and he will start this sat and monday in our 50th and 51st games of the season is it????
Surely he needs resting Tone like the others you easily drop or is it that you have no plan b???

So, to clarify, in the premier league in order to turn a losing situation into a drawing one or a drawing situation into a winning one you need goals. No wonder this league is so tough.

It is when you don't score many goals and you have 50% of your strikeforce as somebody that only contributes "running around a lot".

scoring goals is a natural by-product of trying to score goals.
what we're trying to do week in week out this year evades me somewhat, but from what i can tell from the managers analysis, we're hoping for "something to drop"
pretty much sums it up for me, 23 million outlay in order to pump balls into the box and pray we get the rub of the green with deflections, rebounds etc

Walters has been disappointing this season at the 'with goals' part of his role, that is true.

Pardews done a good job at Newcastle, i think you would be hard pressed to deny that, he has a fairly respectable record full stop.
I don't really care what he does at Newcastle though, all i care about is watching a Stoke team that looks, at some stage, that it might create a fucking chance.
Most of this season we have looked like we are pretty much attempting to stifle games for long enough that we get a lucky break.

TIME TO GO, TIME TO GO, TIME TO GO TIME TO GO TIME TO GO, TIME TO GO TIME TO GOOOOH, TIME TO GO OH OH OH OH F____ ___ Is Alan Pardew the Tony Pulis of a paralell universe? Why can't somebody put the question to Pulis about how much he has spent on average English players who can't pass a ball, aswell as dropping in Alan Pardew's & NUFC's example of positivity & looking up not down theory into the question. Somebody needs to tell him to buck his ideas up or simply fuck off.

i agree!!!
TP > no respect for the fans. boring football. stubborn beyond believe (like many of our fans). Starting to spend way to much money. shocking tactics.
love TP for what he as done but now is the time to get rid.
trouble with TP is that he knows he will NEVER get sacked. you talk about players acting to big for the club, well we have got a manager who is just that!.
PC is 80% the reason we are where we are!. nothing to do with TP. if Brendon Rogers was manager of stoke with PC backing??? who knows

I used to really dislike Pardew but I have to say he's quite impressed me this season, and not just with how well Newcastle have done. He's been disarmingly honest and even affable in his interviews, and he was quite magnanimous after that recent spat with MON. I've warmed to him.

If its 80% to do with Peter Coates, nothing to do with Pulis, then who is responsible for the other 20%?

Hindsight is everything in football.
When Mardew was appointed at Newcastle there were 50 thousand Geordies foaming at the mouth at such a 'poor appointment', after the controversial sacking of Hughton and the rest of the footballing world were laughing at them.
I guess on one hand it really does prove that football supporters generally know the square root of FA.
Or have Newcastle been lucky?

Not lucky, they just have bollocks, they have the bollocks to shop outside of england and they have the bollocks to have faith in them to attack as a team.

An awful lot of the stick TP gets is totally unjustified, but some is warranted too. He's been extremely unlucky to be without 3 key players from last year in that Pennant has shown he has not outgrown his cuntishness, Ethers has been in shocking form and Walters just doesn't know where the goal is anymore. Add to that the big money signing of Palacios and his subsequent lard arse related problems and it's been a tough year.
We have player a huge amount of games and I have no doubt we would be comfortably midtable without out tough European excursions. TP is facing a hugely important summer for our club as he needs to identify that Ethers is ending his days as a top winger and Pennant is a Cunt, so we need at least 2 but really 3 wingers signed in the summer to help us progress next season. Palacios will be like a new signing and add an extra dimension to our midfield if we can get him fit during preseason and if we add the right wingers into the mix then we have a very strong looking side.

Superb manager imo,did a fine job at west ham, progressive, tactically aware in fact everything our manager is not. Doing a fine job at newcastle having spent a fraction of what the capped one has spent and it will be interesting to see what his critics come up with on here when newcastle have blowtorched us off the pitch in a few weeks time.

I agree with you Jarhead, but I think its important to point out that Newcastle are a much bigger club than us and a much more attractive proposition.
Nearly twice as many fans per match, higher wage structure (I believe), larger fan base.
We missed up with Ba but I don't think we would ever have been able to sign Ben Arfa, for example.
