wizzard of dribble. That's a great list of bands. How about The Comsat Angels. I saw them at Salford uni many years ago. They were support to an upcoming band from Ireland. U2..... Waiting for a miracle great song. Toyah Wilcox was a decent performer, I got right to the front of the stage, she would often get her assets out during the show.
A true visionary

What about Bob Dylans old group the Band. They did some superb albums in the late 60s and one brilliant farewell concert in 1976 called the last walze The Band got some coverage recently in "Now Dig This" as a result of the recent death of Ronnie Hawkins. Hawkins was one of the wildest rockers, some say second only to Jerry Lee Lewis. He was Canadian and toured Canada and the States and put together a classic bunch of musicians; Hawkins insisted on only the best. The group were called the Hawks and eventually left Hawkins to back Bob Dylan. Then they changed their name to The Band and after backing Dylan started releasing their own records. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Band en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronnie_Hawkins

I listen to a lot of planet rock, usually hear Joe Elliott's hour on a Saturday night when I'm cooking my tea.
None of the bands mentioned are forgotten if you listen in the right place!
Here's one though:
Who also remind me of this great forgotten 2000s band:

Funnily enough I got to this when down a YouTube rabbit hole the other night Should have been bigger than they were. You’ve disappointed me there Cranny, I was ready for a joke about badgers going down rabbit holes😉 But yeh, great energy. Think they probably just ran out of new material maybe

Del Amitri (in my opinion anyway) ? Some great song writing by Justin Currie. Could/should have been much bigger but they wouldn't conform to what the record label wanted them to do.

A true visionary I thought the Comsat Angels and I2 were co-headlining on that tour flipping who went on first and second each night. Anyway, I saw them in Newcastle on that tour. But it was the Comsat Angels I was interested in seeing. I thought U2 were pretty much pants other than I Will Follow which is a cracking tune.

UK Subs. One of the hardest working and most underated punk bands in the business. Saw them at the Box in Crewe in December. Lead singer Charlie Harper is 67 years old but has more energy than most frontmen half his age. Honourable mentions also for Angelic Upstarts, Dead Kennedys, Magazine, Penetration and the mighty Hanoi Rocks. Isn't Carlie Harper related to Caesar Romero, the Joker from Batman? His nephew I think. Saw SLF at the Box in Crewe. A few pints in the very cheap Irish club over the road before.

The Music did a big gig this May in Leeds as a bit of a comeback. First two albums were fantastic.
