Great interview and comments in today's paper from our Tone.
Once again singing the praises about what a great guy Crouchy is but more importantly stressing that Sunday won't be about 11 players behind the ball.
Apparently "this game will definitely be more open" and "we can't go there and just sit back because that would invite a lot of pressure and problems". We will, however, "do it as we always do it and play with players to try to cause them problems".
You really gotta admire TP. On the one hand he actually points out that we won't do what we normally do and then in the next breath, says that we will do what we always do in terms of picking players to cause problems.
I reckon TP has voices inside his head!
The man is an absolute legend. I can't wait for Sunday and our new positive approach. Should make for compelling viewing.

On the inside pages of the local rag he then attempts to make a comparison between Bale and Shotton, saying that everyone believed that Bale was a full-back and not a winger, but now look at him!
Brilliant. TP at his best in today's Sentinel with the grasp on reality totally absent!

Let's hope TP's decided to play as we did towards the back end of last season

With mid-table obscurity secured for another season, this is easily the biggest game for us now. Im sure the players feel a sense of anticipation at repeating the great run of last year.
The problem is that Liverpool dont have much left to play for in the league now - Champions League is long gone, and they are basically aiming for a Europa Leage spot. King Kenny having won the Carling Cup will see this as a chance to make a great season so I expect them to be well up for this one.
We all want Stoke to have a go at them but actually Liverpool this season have struggled to win games at home against teams that have sat-back. Everton played more open and got whipped 3-0
So I think TP wont play for a 0-0 draw but we wont see two wingers from the start either

Another words, cheekymatt, we will play as we always do, line up as we always do, try not to concede and to nick something from a set-piece, if we can actually be arsed to launch a long throw into the box that is!
I get you mate. I am hearing you loud and clear!

Sounds like (at last) we are going to actually attack them on Sunday. This is what supporters have urged all season so about time too. Get at their arrogant throats you Mighty Potters 3-1 to Stoke! Well I can only dream.

As always Bexhill, the proof of the pudding will be in the eating.
As proven many many times before, OUR ideas of positive approach when compared to TP's ideas of such things are often two totally different things at opposite ends of the positive scale.
As always, we can only wait and see, travelling in hope more than expectation.

If TP says we are going to attack them, then get yourself there, I guarantee it will be a goal infested entertainmentathon.

I don't expect the formation to change but I believe that we will be more positive Expect Ethers and Shotton to start and the team to be really up and at em - TP style of course Looking forward to this one - good opportunity to bring out my anti racism vest

Whelan and Whitehead in our midfield then and no Pennant to run at Enrique? Can't see Shotton causing any problems can you? In what way we'll be different I have no idea.

To be honest I don't believe we are good enough to get hold of the ball and push them back even if we tried.
This will be another "Last of the Alamo" defensive operation whatever instructions TP dishes out.
We'll need a huge slice of luck to come out of this one in tact.

Riddle me this.......Gareth Bale is 22 (23 in July) and made the transition from left back to left side midfield what, two seasons ago? Any comparison to Shotton's progress from central defender, loan full back, part time striker (a low point for me, irrespective of his willingness to run around) to right winger/midfielder is erroneous, disingenuous and loads of other words ending in -ous! What twaddle Pulis comes out with at times.

Brilliant. TP at his best in today's Sentinel with the grasp on reality totally absent! What's the problem with that? He's not comparing the two players ability-wise. He's just saying that he thinks Shotton is a better winger despite some people's perception that he's a right back. As was the case with Bale.

He actually means if we get a throw in stoppage time we will actually throw it in the box instead of down by the corner flag like we did in the Bore feast 0-0 in the league!!!
He says in the sentinel though 'We will do it as we always do it and play players to Try and cause them problems'.....yeah ok Tone

with this clear sign of attacking intentt from TP, I fully expect us to have at least 3 efforts frantically kicked off the half-way line before the end of the game.
