I think ticket prices need capping at £20 or less. No cap on executive packages in suites, boxes and the like, though.
I saw in the Sentinel that the gate receipts from the League Cup Final in 1972 were pretty much equivalent to £1 per ticket. Translate that into modern money and its £10.28. Watching a bog standard, run of the mill game against Chelsea is effectively a 500% increase on ticket prices. I daren't even think about how much the Cup Final last year cost in comparison.
There really is no good reason for any club, and certainly not one that's raking in £40,000,000 per year from the Champions' League, plus several million per year just for turning up to the Champions' League, plus even more millions from general sponsorship money, to extort any more than £20 from their supporters, or the away supporters.
